Vaseline has a multitude of uses and there has always been a tub of it in our house for as long back as I can remember and one of these uses is as a lip balm to stop your lips drying out in cold weather when the wind and added heat from unnatural sources like radiators dry your skin out more.

Having the large tub is great at home but really inconvenient if you want to take it out with you to use at work etc as it is quite a large bulky item to carry in your bag so when I discovered this small tin around ten years ago it was a dream come true.

You only need a really small amount of this as it is very greasy indeed but this is not a bad thing as you need this to moisturise your lips so a tin like this lasts a very long time when just used for my lips.

The lid on the tin is a pull off lid, which is very tight so it doesn't get knocked off easily in my pocket or my bag so I don't end up with Vaseline in my bag or fluff and bits in my Vaseline. The tin is tin so wont get cracked if it takes a knock like the little plastic tubs do either.

To apply this I rub my finger across the Vaseline then apply directly to my lips, you don't have to put any pressure on the Vaseline to get it out of the tub, as it is soft to the touch so a lot easier to use than other lip salvage treatments. It is not scented or coloured so can be used by both men and women and it does not sting when applied to cracked or chapped skin.

I notice a difference instantly with this as it moisturises my dry lips as soon as it is applied and stops the cracking you get when your lips are dry and you try to smile, after it has worn off you still notice your lips are more subtle so it doesn't need reapplying straight away.

As it is clear it can be used alone or with lipstick too so can be used at all occasions, it doesn't aggravate the skin around my lips, as it is very gentle too.

A £1 tin of this lasts me a whole winter so is fantastic value and at this time of year I believe everyone should have a tin to hand.
