I am obsessive about using lip balm and like to try a lot of different brands. I recently bought this Vaseline Lip Therapy balm in a little plastic tube. It''''s variety is called Rosy Lips and it is a pink tinted lip balm that comes in a dark pinky peach tube. The product comes in a packet which has some information printed on it. Information is also printed onto the outer casing of the tube. The brand state that this product can ''''soothe dry lips''''. They also state this contains a SPF15 as well as softening almond oil and vitamin E for conditioning the skin of the lips. This comes as a 4g stick of lip balm. It has a top which pops off which unfortunately isn''''t too secure and can slip off when moving around inside a handbag. A twisting lipstick style base pushes up the lip balm. The balm is a strong warm pink colour and when you apply the balm it actually colours your lips ever so slightly. I didn''''t realise this at first and then caught my clown-like reflection in a mirror and I had smeared the balm outside of my lips edges. So you have to apply this as carefully as you would a lipstick. The balm has a lovely fragrance which is like rose petals. The balm feels like it melts slightly as it touches your lips and it is very easy to apply. It looks glossy and bright and makes my lips look healthier. The balm feels protective but it is not too thick on the lips. It actually feels like the perfect consistency to wear on the lips and not notice that it is there. It''''s sort of slippery and greasy but it stays in place too. The balm is quite adhesive to the lips unless I drink or eat or wipe the balm off some other way. I enjoy wearing this balm all day long and find it suitable for use in the day time and also before bed. It only cost me a couple of pounds and I think it is great value for money. I would recommend to ladies only.
I love vaseline, and in my bag it is an essential. Although I love it, the downside is the taste. Therefore this rosy lips vaseline is perfect for me. The same great lip treatment but with a very subtle taste and the colour is unnoticeable when applied. Vaseline has just got better for me and will never leave this one at home!
The packaging is standard, nothing special, but the lid is better quality than some of my cheaper lip balms because it's thicker and bends less when you squeeze it.
I was a bit worried when I first opened it up because the pink looked a little fake and opaque so I was worried that when I applied it, it might end up looking like the wrong shade of lipstick. When it's on your lips it's actually a nice translucent rosy tint that looks very natural. If I didn't know what my lips usually looked like I wouldn't notice that I'd put anything on them.
It's incredibly easy to apply, you just put it on like any lipstick. The stick is solid enough that it doesn't smush when you apply it, but soft enough that you don't need to push hard, it just glides on. Much cleaner and less sticky than using a pot, also healthier.
My lips don't really chap all that much, but they do get drier and sorer as the weather gets wetter and colder, this definitely helps a lot, but would probably help more if I remembered to reapply after meals.
Use as a Blusher
I heard that it made a really good blusher so I figured I should at least try it. First of all don't try to apply it over a powder foundation, that didn't go so well for me. It works as a natural looking blusher, but I only really wear makeup (other than lip balm) when going out and on those occasions I prefer a slightly more saturated blusher, but it would be good for day to day use. The translucency means it out to look good on lots of different skin tones.
For me it's really good value because it's fairly inexpensive to begin with, but it lasts forever. One tube does months and months. (On my second tube, but have found the first in my other handbag)
This is a brilliant product.
The packaging is small and fits perfectly into a small bag/ purse.
This product is so soothing your lips feel back to normal in no time! The balm is moisturising and keeps your lips looking and feeling smooth. It sinks in really nicely and once it has sunk in your lips still feel perfectly moisturised for ages after!
This product also has a fantastic pink hit to it- a real natural perfect colour. The colour is very long-lasting and perfect for a natural look.
You can also use this product as a tint for your cheeks, perfect for those last minute moments! The product its self is amazing and a must buy! Perfect for xmas even as a little stocking filler. I've found it to be a very cheap alternative to some very expensive lip glosses you can buy and would 100% recommend getting one for your purse!
I have been a fan of Vaseline lip products for a while now, probably from university days of staying out late with the wind blowing causing those irritating chapped lips. But I always ended up with the annoyance of left over Vaseline left on my fingers - this was usually rubbed into my hands or onto my trousers. I tried this stick product to see if it gave the same effect as the tub but without the greedy finger feeling. And it didn't disappoint! I found that it still gave the same rose effect on my lips, was small and compact to carry around and meant I didn't end up with left over on my hands! All round a winner and would definitely recommend.
The Vaseline Rosy Stick provides the same great colour and scent as its tinned counterpart. However, it removes that tricky part when you are left with sticky vaseline residue on your fingers. The stick is long lasting, and is a great travel size for work, school, or just going out. The pink tinge gives your lips a bit of colour without a sticky gloss or thick lipstick. An alternative way of using this product is on your cheeks - it softens them and gives a rosy glow! These sticks are excellent for dry, sore or chapped lips as the do not irritate them and help to lock in moisture. I have found that my lips are softer after using this product. They are inexpensive, but much better quality than drugstore alternatives you may find. However, it is quite similar to the more tradition chapstick/lipsyl alternatives - however these are not currently available in pink. The product is good value, and is lightweight but thick at the same time.
