What is it? Why did I buy it? How much?
I was stood in a queue at Boots waiting for what felt like an eternity to get to the front when I stupidly/luckily started glancing at the displays that surround you when you're waiting and I just happened to notice this lip balm for £1.80 and being the sucker that I am decided that I must have it and threw it into the basket with my other items. Thankfully I was able to restrain myself from purchasing more from the display as Boots seemed to have an evening planned for everyone which required condoms, toe seperators, mosquito repellent, painkillers, dry shampoo and lip balm. Any way getting back to the item in question the lip balm is contained within a metal tin which is pretty sturdy and for your £1.80 you get 20g of a clear rose pink tinted lip balm which contains petrolatum, almond oil and rose oil.
Is it any good?
Well I've been using the rose vaseline lip therapy as a replacement of my old favourite Carmex lip balm and I have to admit it's pretty damn good. My lips are not overly dry but during the cooler months I like to use a balm as a preventative measure as well as the applying of lip balm has been a habit of mine carried on since my teens. Well from my experience I find that the smooth balm moisturises my lips beautifully without being overly greasy or tacky which is important to me as I cannot stand having my lips sticking together. The balm is also quite long lasting and the colour although quite bright in the tin is subtle on the lips, giving a natural neutral pink flushed look which will suit any skin tone. Another wonderful aspect of this lip balm is the scent which is of rose and although this might be off putting to some of those with overly sensitive noses I really like it as it's not overpowering yet I can definently smell the balm as soon as I open the tin. I have had this tin now for about 2 months and even though I've used it on a daily basis I'm quite impressed that I've got over half a tin left which is quite amazing considering the price.
Would I buy it again or recommend to others?
I would definently purchase this lip balm again and actually prefer it to my more expensive Carmex lip balm. I would recommend to anyone who wants a balm for beauty purposes as opposed to cracked dry irritated lips as I imagine the balm might not be moisturising enough for those issues. Another reason why I like this balm is the packaging which is practical yet cute as I've transported it about in my handbag on a daily basis and not once had an experience of the lid coming off which is a real pain in the bum when it does happen. All in all a great lip balm which I would purchase again when I run out.
*I have noticed that on the Boots website they are now selling this balm for £2.25 but even at that price I would still re-purchase*
Summary: A great rosy lip balm in a cute wee tin
