Advantages: Moisturises well and gives a little bit of colour to the lips.
Disadvantages: None.
Vaseline is one product that never fails to moisturise my cracked lips, especially during the dry winter months. In fact, these days I am applying it every night without fail and I wake up to lovely, soft lips. I don't really like using Vaseline during the day though as I like a little bit of colour on my lips during the day. When I saw this product while out shopping, I knew I had to have it as I thought it would give my lips some colour while also providing intensive moisturising.
Packaging
The lip balm comes in a small circular tin that is pink and white in colour. To use, you just twist and pull the lid off of the tin, and apply with either your finger or a lip brush. While the lid is not hard to pry off, it does fit securely on top of the tin, so it won't come off if you carry the tin around in your bag, which you may want to as the tin is so small and light.
The Lip Balm
The lip balm is basically petroleum jelly containing rose and almond oil for extra moisturising. The lip balm looks just like regular petroleum jelly except for the fact that it is pink in colour! When it is cold, the petroleum jelly is quite solid, but when it gets hot it does melt a little. Either way, you just need to briefly rub your finger in it to get enough to cover your lips. It glides over the lips easily and gives good coverage, and when applied it feels smooth, and not at all heavy or greasy. It gives my lips a glossy, natural pink tint, and looks quite a lot like pink lip gloss. It moisturises my lips very well, and my lips are in a very good condition as a result of using this product regularly. I am not a big fan of rose oil as it often smells very artificial, but this product has a very subtle, natural scent to it which is actually quite pleasant.
Price and Availability
This product can be bought at most supermarkets and chemists, and the 20g tin is currently retailing for £2.25 at Superdrug and Boots. It is on a 3 for 2 offer at Boots. This product is also available in a stick version, but I have not tried that so I cannot comment on it. There are other versions available too, including the original one, an aloe vera one and a cocoa butter one.
Final Word
I do think that this is a great product and would definitely recommend it. It gives your lips a natural pink tint with a glossy finish, while also moisturising them, leaving them soft, healthy and in great condition. The price is quite decent as well, and the little tin lasts for ages (about 3 months with daily usage) so I feel that it provides good value for money. Some may find it a little unhygienic to apply with a finger, but a lip brush can be used (I have done this a few times), or you could buy the stick version, although I cannot comment on its quality or effectiveness since I have not used it.

Summary: Combines the goodness of Vaseline with a hint of colour.
