Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips
Advantages: Price, looks good
Disadvantages: No applicator included
I have been buying items from the Vaseline lip therapy range since I was in my early teens so we are getting on for ten years now. I always tend to just grab the original one when I buy one singularly, I dont know why, maybe just sticking to what I know. Just before Christmas in B+M's I was helping my sister find a present for her partners teenage niece. I pointed out the giant Vaseline tins that were available with all four varieties of the lip therapy in. She bought it for her and imagine my glee on my birthday when I unwrapped one too!
The rosy lips vaseline lip therapy looks exactly as it does in the picture above. It is in a tin which I quite like - I like the way it can be chucked in your bag and you know nothing will leak, I also like the way that the product looks and like the nice pink colour used. In addition to this, I find it easy to use up all of the product. However, with some tins (this was a few years ago so I wonder if some slight adjustments have been made) I did find it quite difficult to get the lid off.
When you open the tin you are greeted with a pink petroleum jelly. The tin is filled to the top and looks pretty and I was quite surprised at how pink the product actually was! It is a very bright pink which made me wonder exactly how bright it would look when applied.
To apply the jelly you simply use a clean finger or a lip brush. I always tend to use a clean finger as I find it easier as I tend to use this when I am out and about and by doing it this way it is easy enough to wipe your finger off afterwards.
When applied the therapy does give your lips a hint of pink. It is nowhere near as bright as what it looks like in the tin which I found quite a good thing! It makes your lips look shiny and although they do have a hint of pink it doesnt look like you are wearing a gloss as such, more of a balm with a shine.
The therapy is what I tend to use instead of a lip gloss. I like the results it gives me, and my lips keep the product on them for a couple of hours. Even after the product has faded my lips retain the rosy pink colour which is nice as it does give the impression that there is something on my lips.
But of course, this product is meant to care for your lips rather than be a make up product as such. It cares for my lips very well. I suffer from extremely dry lips, especially in winter and after just one application of this my lips are noticeably softer and feel more nourished. After a few applications, even if its just once a day for a few days, my lips feel soft, supple and moisturised.
The price for this tin on its own varies but most stores have it for somewhere between £1.25 and £1.50 which I think is an excellent price for such a fantastic quality product from a well known brand.
