Vaseline Lip Therapy Sun Protection
Advantages: moisturises well and protects against the sun
Disadvantages: none for me really but doesn't help chapped lips I don't think
I do like the Vaseline lip therapy range and have tried many of the ones available as I seem to buy one then throw it in a bag and end up losing it for a while and so buy another one! The one which currently sits on my dressing table at home so is always available when I need some whilst at home is the lip therapy with sun protection mini tin and this is my review of that.
What I like about the Vaseline lip therapy tins is that they come in a small tin which I find hard wearing and protective for the contents inside but which is also quite nice to look at and so I don't ever feel embarrassed about using the product as I feel it is quite fashionable in a way to carry a small Vaseline tin with you! The sun protection Vaseline comes in a small tin like all of the others but this one is yellow and white and so I think automatically makes me think of the sun to be honest. On the front of the tin there is the Vaseline logo which is pretty prominent across the middle as well as the product name and information about how the product gives a SPF of 15.
My lips are terrible for going dry and sore if I don't keep on top of them and keep them well moisturised be it summer or winter and so I do need something which will give my lips a moisturising layer but something which will not need to be constantly reapplied as well because that would just annoy me. The sun protection lip therapy is a great product really because it does offer the sun protection factor 15 and to be honest I wouldn't generally think of protecting my lips in the sun other than the fact that they may become dry.
The lip therapy tin contains a standard 20g of the petroleum jelly and it looks much like the normal Vaseline to me and to be honest doesn't really smell different either. Some of the lip therapy tins are coloured or scented but this one doesn't seem to be. The tin tells me that this product contains shea butter but I cannot detect the smell of this in the product at all. Applying the product to the lips is very easy and I tend to get a little of the product on to my finger and then just rub it on to my lips. The Vaseline is pleasant enough on my lips and I like how it just gives them a slight sheen which isn't too over the top but makes my lips look healthy and glossy almost. I also like how once this product is fully absorbed by my lips and no longer really showing that my lips don't just go back to feeling really dry as they feel well moisturised with this. Providing I keep on top of applying Vaseline to my lips I don't often end up having to reach for something which is more likely to help me deal with sore chapped lips which is not something Vaseline does for me at all. My son also steals this Vaseline when his lips are a little dry and he has no issues in using it either so I think it is probably suitable for most people to use.
I like the fact that this product is so easy to use and I tend not to have any issues with the lid being really hard to remove which can be the case with some Vaseline tins so perhaps I just got lucky with this one! The lid does stay on securely when the product is thrown around and so I would have no worries about transporting it in my bag should I need to but as I said I do tend to keep this one at home. I am also reassured that I am protecting my lips from the sun when I use this product and so I can offer my recommendation with this one as I think it works well at moisturising and protecting.
You can pick this product up from around £1.50-£2.00 depending on where you purchase it but a tin will last you a very long time. I have had this one for around twelve months and there is still plenty in there so a little does go a long way.
Thank you for reading my review!
