Advantages: tasty, half sugar, easy to drink

Disadvantages: hardly available any more :(

I am a big fan of alcopops and have tried many different varieties, Smirnoff ice, WKD, reef, Caribbean twist, bacardi breezer ect. Most of them are pretty good but one of my all time favourites has to be the blue Bacardi breezer, but unfortunately it is very hard to come by these days :(

Bacardi breezer is an alcopop brand which is a premixed drink of Bacardi rum and fruit flavours and is 4% ABV. It comes in a variety of flavours including orange, lemon, pineapple, lime, raspberry, watermelon, mango and many more, it probably has the biggest range of flavours of any alcopop so there is likely to be a flavour for everyone!

The flavour of the blue version of this drink is blueberry and it has the added benefit of being only 100 calories (per 275ml bottle) as it is "half sugar" compared to other drinks in this brand. It is available (if you can find it) in 275ml bottles, which have a beer bottle type top, and 700ml big bottles with have a screw top. The smaller bottles have about 1 unit of alcohol in them and the large bottles have about 3 units. If you have read my previous review on blue WKD you will have read that I'm not overly keen on that drink due to it being really sweet, the blue Bacardi breezers on the other hand are not overly sweet and sickly and in fact taste lovely , combine that with only having half the sugar and this drink is a winner for me!

This drink, as I've mentioned, is not available many places any more. You used to be able to get it in any supermarket and in most pubs, now you are lucky to find it in a pub and it has completely disappeared from supermarkets, the only place I've seen it in the last few years is in a shop called home bargains. If memory serves me correctly the cost in the supermarkets was around £2.50 for a big bottle and about £5 for a pack of 4x275ml bottles, about average for this type of drink. Like everything, it cost you a fair bit more to buy it in a pub or a club, around £3 for a small bottle, large bottles only being available in supermarkets.

If you like alcopops and happen to come across some of this I would recommend you give it a go as although I haven't had any for a few years, it is still a firm favourite and I'm gutted it seems to have disappeared!

Summary: a tasty alcopop drink!
