      Advantages

      Disadvantages

An ok drink, good for a base of a cocktail - buy very sweet and sickly

      =Archers Peach County Schnapps=

Archers Peach Schnapps was launched in 1988, it is a sweet peach based clear drink with a alcohol content of 23% by volume. It is described as an English classic.

      =Price and Availability=
Archers is sold in 70ml bottles, and is priced at around £13 to £16 a bottle. It can be purchased from many retailers, from supermarkets to the local off licence.

      =For me - best served=
Archers is a very sweet drink, it is served in some pubs in shot glasses, as it is sweet, strong(ish) and goes down well. Personally I prefer to drink the Schnapps with lemonade, although it does go down well with Vodka, and Lemonade, that does have a kick and a half, especially when you hit the fresh air.

      =Cocktails=
Archers is a base for some cocktails, and does give a good strong fruity base.

      =My Thoughts=
Although I do like Archers, even mixed with lemonade, I still find this to be a sweet drink, and can only drink 1 or 2 of these before I start to feel bloated and gassy.

      =Alternative Uses=
      Peach Trifle

      1 x Swiss roll
      1 x tin sliced peaches
1 x packet blamonge powder (or can use custard)
      1/4 pint of archers
      Whipping Cream or Double Cream

1 - Slice the Swiss roll into slices and arrange in dish
2 - Pour the Archers over the Swiss roll - ensure an even coating
3 - Add the tinned peaches (you may want to chop smaller - personal taste)
4 - Make up blamonge or custard - let it cool slightly - pour over trifle base
      5. Leave to cool - till the custard / blamonge has set
      6. Whip cream and top the trifle

A definite 10/10 for the trifle.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

Lovely drink, quite feminine and refreshing

I am not a typical young lady when it comes to alchol.I hate wine, find it disgusting.Hate the taste, smell and look of it.White or red, horrible! What I do like is to drink something that is refreshing, and to be honest does not taste that much of alchol-and this fits the bill!My perfect partner in crime with this drink is lemonade, which makes it even more refreshing. This combination means I have to be very careful not to foget I am drinking something with alcohol in it! The amount you get in the bottle is perfecty-even the bottle itself is quite classy/cute looking. The thing I do find annoying is this is one of those drinks thats rarely on offer at the supermarket. Such a shame as I would buy it more often. Good quality product, lovely sweet taste and perfect for summer coming up!Please whoever puts the price on this make it a tad bit cheaper!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        2 stars

My daughter loves this drink. She always asks for a bottle for Christmas and I cannot see what she likes about it to be honest! Every year I do have a little try to see if the taste has grown on me but nope!

It comes in a large, thin but tall bottle with a frosted affect which is quite nice and makes you want to touch the bottle to see how smooth it is. It's obvious from a quick glance what it is as it has a picture of peaches on the front. It is a relatively simple bottle really.

It is 23% so rather strong.

It is a peach flavoured liqueur. It smells very peachy and it tastes even more so. It doesn't taste like fresh peaches at all though, it's not at all natural tasting, it tastes very false and floral, more like a perfume than a drink and it's sweetness makes it very sickly. I don't mind sweet things but there is something about this drink which makes me feel sick and I'm sure it's the fact it tastes so false.

My daughter drinks it with lemonade and I can see that mixed with a light drink like that it can be nice to drink as a summery drink when it's nice and warm. You can drink it neat of course, when I sipped at this I found that it didn't burn like some neat drinks do so to drink neat it's not too strong but I still don't like the actual flavour of it myself.

If you like overly sweet things and don't mind that it tastes so very false then you'll be fine with this!

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A nice tasting mixer for those who don't like the taste of alcohol.

Archers was launched in 1988, but it was not until the late 90's I had my first taste. A friend of mine brought a bottle around one New Years Eve for us to share. She claimed it could be drank straight (no mixer) but after a sniff of the bottle I decided to mix mine with some lemonade. Accordingly I enjoyed a few glasses where as my friend got drunk and ended up going home with another friend of ours and throwing up on his bedroom floor before trying to continue with an ill advised liaison (you know what I mean). He later informed us that it smelt like she had been eating cheap air freshener, Yuck!

Archers is 23% alcohol by volume, so while it's not up there with most Whiskies and Vodka's it can hold its own in the alcohol department. It is widely available in most supermarkets, shops and off-licences and can also be sourced from many online retailers, and will cost you around £13-£14 for a 70cl bottle.

Archers is described as a premium fruit schnapps created in England, with ripe flavours of peach and a sweet liqueur and is an English classic.

I described Archers as a sickly sweet peach flavoured drink that is best served chilled over ice or mixed with lemonade. When drunk on its own Archers has a very strong peachy flavour, the alcohol taste really doesn't come through; it goes down quite smoothly with hardly any warmth in the throat. When drunk mixed with lemonade it adds a nice peach flavour to the drink and goes down really nicely, you can not tell it is alcoholic.

I think Archers is an ideal mixer and many cocktail recipes can be found online, with its peach flavour it makes a great summer drink. Its alcohol content is a lot higher than the pre-mixed archers drinks that are available, in my opinion it should always be drank with a mixer or if drank on its own it should be sipped.

I am one of those lucky people who never suffer with hangovers, so I can't comment on its effects in the hangover department.

Please remember never drink to excess, you will only spoil your night out.

Many thanks for reading my review xx

          Archers peach schnapps

          Archers and Lemonade!!

When I'm out on the town and not just out for dinner but out to have a few drinks and a dance my drink of choice is Archers and Lemonade. It's one of those drinks that you can ask for by name and they know what you are talking about behind the bar.

So what exactly is Archers? Well it's a peach flavoured Schnapps and is a drink mostly commonly mixed with a fizzy soft drink, more often than not, lemonade. Archers call it a, "UNIQUELY BLENDED WITH THE FLAVOUR OF RICH PEACH, FOR A CRISP CLEAN TASTE."

So what exactly is a schnapps. Well, according to an article I read to explain it better, "Schnapps is a type of distilled alcoholic beverage. The English word "schnapps" is derived from the German Schnaps (plural,Schnäpse), which can refer to any strong alcoholic drink, but particularly those containing at least 32% ABV (64 proof). It is usually clear, colorless, and has a light fruit flavor. It is distilled from fermented fruit must, is bottled with no added sugar"

Archers is a clear liquid and definitely has a very distinct peach taste and smell to it. It's a very sweet alcoholic drink and so when you mix it with fizzy lemonade it definitely makes it a lot sweeter so I find I can really only have a couple of these drinks before my mouth goes a bit fuzzy and before they begin to taste a bit sickly but one and two are just enough to enjoy. I find Archers a really refreshing fruity drink and I find the lemonade must be really cold so you get that nice crisp taste.

A peach schnapps I really enjoy.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

I love Archers but it is too sweet to drink too much of it

          WHAT IS IT?

A peach flavoured alcoholic drink that can be drunk alone or used with a mixer.

          THE TASTE

This is a beautiful tasting drink.  I usually mix it with a small amount of orange juice because it is very sugary tasting on its own, I think mixing it with citrus juice brings out the peach flavour and lessens the taste of alcohol.  If you drink it on its own you can feel the alcohol as you swallow and it's quite a harsh feeling even though the flavour of the drink is very smooth.  It smells and tastes like juicy fresh peaches.

          WHAT I THINK

Archers is one of my very favourite drinks because it is so nice tasting and easy to drink. It is better to use a mixer because that makes a longer drink for you to savour. It is quite a thick and sticky drink so is not very refreshing, I like it as a winter drink even though the peach makes it taste summery because it is comforting.

This is a very sweet drink and I cannot drink a lot of it all in one go because of this. This is even worse when I use a fruit juice mixer because all the sugar upsets my stomach. It has a nice strong taste so I can savour each mouthful and I don't need to rush it.

Archers is nice with lemonade or cranberry juice as well, if I drink it in a bar I have lemonade because that turns it into a drink that is a lot lighter and more refreshing.  I always drink it through a straw because of how sweet it is but if I drink it without a mixer I use a shot glass and sip it, if I drink it too quickly it can make me feel sick and that is the only thing that stops me drinking it more often.

          A 70cl bottle costs about £11.

          4 Dooyoo Stars.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

a great ingredient for cocktails or mixed with lemonade

Archers is a brand of peach schnapps which is 18% ABV. Because it is so sweet Archers is quite high in calories; per 25ml shot there is about 70 calories and 6.5g of sugar so if you're really counting calories, it takes up a lot! Peach schnapps is not like authentic German schnaps which has no added sugar and is usually a lot stronger. Archers has added sugar which makes it more of a syrup and the taste is very peachy, but not very natural. As I've mentioned before, it is sweet; the kind of drink that makes your teeth a bit fuzzy, but I have a massive sweet tooth and I think it's delicious.

In the shops a 70cl bottle of archers will set you back between £12 and £15. I honestly wouldn't recommend going for the cheaper options (e.g. Orchards) because it just isn't anywhere near as good. The price of archers is cheaper than most vodka or rum because the alcohol percentage is lower.

          ==Ways to drink Archers==

I sometimes drink archers as a shot on its own as it doesn't taste too strong and doesn't burn as it goes down. There aren't usually any special deals on archers shots in bars, though so it's not always the cheapest way to drink. The taste is very fruity and sweet, but it's also very sticky so don't spill any! If you don't have a sweet tooth, though, this might taste a bit like shotting undiluted squash!

A very popular drink is archers and lemonade. I've worked in many bars and this is probably one of the drinks I've been asked for most. It is very girly, though, and you wouldn't see many men drinking it! The fizz of the lemonade really compliments the taste. Archers have also released a pre-mixed drink called Archers Aqua which is a 5% alcopop that is similar to archers and lemonade, but mixed with some other fruit flavourings.

One of my favourite cocktails to make and drink is sex on the beach. Along with archers, the ingredients are vodka, orange juice, cranberry juice and grenadine syrup. For me, this is the taste of summer - really sweet and fruity. I also like woo-woos which are archers, vodka, cranberry juice and a squeeze of lime.

As with most liqueurs, archers is best served cold. I personally keep mine in the fridge and sometimes the freezer and I always put lots of ice in my drinks!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Nice occasionally.

Archers Peach County Schnapps is one of those drinks which I drink now and again, although it's not one of those drinks that I drink too often because it's quite rich and sweet. Archers delivers the traditional Peach Schnapps and it's something that's really nice to drink from shot glasses with friends at the start or end of a night out. It contains 20% alcohol by volume and so this is enough alcohol to give your night a little boost.

Archers Peach County Schnapps comes in an attractive frosted white glass bottle with the peach coloured Archers logo on the front and a big picture of a peach in case you're in any doubt what the flavour is! Essentially, this is a peach flavoured liqueur which can be drunk either as a shot, or as part of a longer drink in a variety of cocktail concoctions. The bottle contains 700mls of the liqueur and costs £12.79 from Tesco - which I feel is a decent price for a branded liqueur. Based on the average 25ml shot glass in the UK, there are 28 shots available in the bottle - and so that equates to 46p per shot. It is recommended that, once opened, the liqueur should be drunk within nine months......although it would never be hanging around for nine months in my house!

The taste of Archers is overwhelmingly of peach. It is incredibly sweet and is very syrup like and sticky in its consistency. The sweetness and syrupyness can actually make this quite a sickly drink which is also fairly heavy when drunk as a shot. After drinking Archers as a shot, my mouth can also feel quite coated with sugar and then I feel the need to wash my mouth around with another drink. However, despite this, it is actually a nice, pleasant fruity drink when drunk in moderation and I am left with a taste of peaches and general fruitiness in my mouth.

A really nice way of drinking Archers is to use it as a mixer. There are so many things Archers can be mixed with, but I have a few favourites. I particularly like mixing Archers with cranberry juice because I find that the dryness and sharpness of the cranberry juice actually compliments the sweetness by reducing the sweetness overall. In addition, I also like adding about half a shot of the Archers to a glass of champagne because the Archers is again complimented by the dryness of the champagne.

Overall, I do like Archers - but I don't love it! It is a nice fruity liqueur but it is very sweet and syrupy - and as such, can be quite sickly.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Lovely summer drink to have over BBQs and at the pub on a lazy afternoon

Archers in my opinion is the best leading producer of peach schnapps around. It offers a unique taste of fresh peaches, and is simply delicious. Some alcoholics drinks can be very strong, such as vodka, but this one tastes quite soft, and isn't hard to drink. I don't tend to have it over winter, it to me is far more of a hot summers day refreshment drink! I occasionally have it out at night, but it is too classy to get drunk off!

The mix I like of this is to add lemonade to it, to make it really refreshing - especially if it has ice cubes or ice cold lemonade in it. It has a very fruity taste to it, so adding lemonade is the perfect partner. In fact, Archers always taste nicer when it has been stored in the fridge for a few hours before you drink it, it tastes slightly less sweet than normal. I often go for one measurement of it in a drink, instead of doubling up, because I find it can be a bit too sweet when there is too much in, and so in the case, less is more. Many other shooters I like have peach schnapps in them, but I think you can tell when you have the Archers label, it is like choosing Smirnoff over cheaper brands - you can tell the difference in the quality. Many cocktails can be created using this too.

There are many different flavours available in the Archers brand, but I haven't tried any - but these include: Archers apple, lime and cranberry.

The bottles vary from place to place, but in ASDA and in most supermarkets it is a stylish, sleek white bottle, with the label and red writing displaying which flavour it is. The most common size to find is 70cl, I haven't come across any smaller sizes yet. It is 21%, so not as strong as most spirits, but strong enough.

If you spill it, it is quite a sticky liquid, and smells very sweet and fruity! So a bit of a pain if it gets down you, (yes it has happened to me!)

The prices vary.. in the summer it is a common drink to be put on offer, e.g 2 bottles for £22, or £20. A a single bottle ASDA sell it for around £12, some other supermarkets like Tesco and Sainsburys sell it for around £13. These are the 70cl bottles. However, sometimes there have £1-2 off it, it just depends on the deal at the time. Sometimes you can get miniature bottles of it, as testers (but I've only seen these on Ebay).

I recommend it to people, but I think because of the fruitiness it is an acquired taste. My boyfriends opinion of it is that it is far to sweet, he compares it to Calpol! But I love it, gorgeous summer nights drink and refreshing.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            lovely drink

Being possibly the biggest lightweight going, this drink gets me good. I do not really like the taste of vodka or many other drinks, so this is perfect! Archers has become my new alcoholic friend. It is very popular amongst women and students due to the fruity flavour.

I think the main thing that drew me towards Archers was the fact it is quite fruity and sweet, without being overpowering like others such as the Sourz range.

The drink is a very syrup-like clear liquid which does not taste alcoholic at all! I usually mix it with lemonade or have it as a shot, because I love mixing it up a little. The ABV is 23% so understandably you can get drunk pretty quickly on this as you cannot taste the alcohol at all. Archers IS classed as a spirit so do be warned to drink too much of it. It is used quite regularly in cocktails also. I recommend drinking through a straw and adding ice!

A bottle of Peach Schnapps is currently £3.02 at Sainsburys which is perfect for students who need a cheap drink. I am sure the prices are similar in other supermarkets and newsagents.

I would highly recommend this drink to anyone who does not like strong alcoholic drinks and prefers something a bit more fruity and yummy!

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

good to have in case of emergency cocktails

As you may well know, archers have dominated the peach schnapps market for years, and for good reason.

Basically, Archers peach schnappes is a peach flavoured liquer, and it sits about the 23% alcohol by volume mark, which is not that strong, about the same as baileys or apple sours. one of the main drawing points to this drink is its sweetness, which enables various people who may not like the strong flavour of rum or vodka, even when they are mixed, to enjoy a drink with their friends without running the risk of getting too drunk or getting sick of the drink too early.

This drink has a very sugary taste, which may be to some peoples liking, but sadly not my own, as it can quickly become verrrry sickening when drank with a sweet mixer, so i suggest using either lemon and tonic, or soda and lime, as there cancel out the sweetness and provide a refreshing drink, especially on ice after a hot day. Another main drawing point to Archers is its versatility, as it is used in many of the more modern cocktails, and also in the old favourite, the sex on the beach. This usually consists of a measure of vodka, a measure of archers, topped up with orange juice and cranberry juice served on ice. This is a brilliant cocktail, as it is impossible to get wrong, because even if you mess up the measures, the OJ and the cranberry juice cancells it out almost perfectly. A good variation on this if you are not a big fan of the strong cocktails is to drop the measure of vodka, and replace it with another one of archers, or for an even sweeter, less alcoholic version, just drop the last shot of archers and put in small dash of grenadine, this is good, because if you know how to layer them it can look pretty cool to serve at a party.

On a final note, I would highly suggest Archers over other peach schnappes brands, even though they may be less expensive, for one main reason, and that is that archers ACTUALLY tastes like proper peaches. Other peach schnappes i have tried over the years in spain and tenerife and the like, tend to only resemble peach, and then just kill you with sugar.

All in all, good to have a bottle in case of an imprompteu party:)

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Lovely to drink with lemonade

Archers Peach Schnapps is a lovely fruity alcoholic drink.

It comes in a frosted bottle which is quite girly looking and I think because it is a sweet drink it really appeals to women.

I have been drinking Archers for years now and it is great for mixing. It is not a strong spirit like vodka so it is a nice drink that doesn't get you drunk quickly so you can really enjoy it. I usually pay about £12 for a bottle and the bottle is quite large and it lasts me a long time although how long it lasts depends on how strong you like your drinks.

I normally have Archers with lemonade as the peach flavour goes perfectly with the lemonade and as the lemonade doesn't override the peach taste so the combination works really well and is very refreshing and quences my thirst. It is nice to have with lemonade because it makes it nice and fizzy. Archers can also be used in a number of cocktails so it is quite a versatile spirit that goes well with lots of different flavours and works very well with cranberry.

It is really easy to drink and because it is so peachy it doesn't have a nasty alcohol taste but rather a sweet sugary taste that tastes like a fruit drink so you don't really notice you are drinking alcohol.

I would definately recommend Archers Peach Schnapps as it is a lighter spirit and is great for drinking anytime you fancy a bit of a pick up without getting drunk.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

Good cocktail ingredient to have, or just for a freshing drink with lemonaide

Archers is a type of fruit schnapps, made with peaches, which was launched in 1986.

A Scnapps is a strong alcoholic drink normally around 40% which gives it a very long shelf live!
The name schnapps comes from the old german word "snappen", meaning a gulp or to swallow,
Hence the traditional way of drinking schnapps in Europe is a shot.

The nice thing about Archers is that is a sweet refreshing drink, brilliant for thoses who have a sweet tooth and dont like the taste of bitter alcoholic drinks, and it can be drank with many different mixes commonly with lemonaid and ice although i like cocktails, so a few of my favorite ways to drink it are...
            An Irish Quarter
1 shot of Jamesons Irish Whisky
1 shot of Archers Peach Schnapps
            1 shot of Blue Curacao

              Go for the cheaper versions

Archers is the classic brand of Peach schnapps on the market in the Uk today, Archers has virtually monopolised the market for schnapps with other brands not getting a look in at all. Many people would ask for an archers before asking for a peach schnapps. But does this brand of peach schnapps deserve to be ahead of the others?

First thing you notice when you taste archers is how sweet the snapps is, but to be honest every other schnapps which i have tasted is just as sweet if not more sweet. So does it taste any better? To be honest i dont think so, if you taste it on its on all you can taste is how sweet the schnapps is no matter what brand of schnapps is. Also if you are mixing it with lemonade for example you cant really taste the difference between the different brands. The same goes if it is getting put in a cocktail you wont get any difference between the different brands on the market.

A litre of archers would normally cost you around £10 or so while a not as well known brand would cost you a couple of pounds less than that.

I do not know of any peach schnapps enthusiasts, they may find differences between them but for the occasional drinker you are safe to go for the cheaper version.

              A tasty drink!

I'm quite partial to an alcoholic drink here and there me and to be honest I'm not fussy, I don't like to stick to the same drink and I quite like trying something new but there are a few alcoholic drinks that I can actually enjoy the taste of, one of these few drinks are Archers peach schnapps.

Archers Peach schnapps can either be bought in straight spirit bottles or in the alcopop version. Obviously being a spirit the schnapps is quite strong at 23% roughly but it's just 5% for the alcopop. In saying that it is a strong drink the percentage is not as high as your typical vodkas for example.

Whether you are buying the spirit or the alcopop, they both come in a glass bottle with a modern, frosted look to it.

Opening a bottle of this your nose is instantly greeted by that sweet, fruity aroma - and it tastes exactly how it smells. Sweet, peachy, fruity, sugary and very strong. In my opinion this isn't one for people who are not fond on really sweet things, not extremely fruity either. If drinking this I tend to mix mine with lemonade, however it is often used in cocktails including Sex on the Beach.

Archers Peach schnapps is actually quite expensive at over £10 a large bottle, but you can more often than not buy a cheaper brand in most supermarkets and to me they taste exactly the same, fruity, sweet and containing a strong peachy flavour.

This is one of them alcoholic drinks that I can drink without squirming and pulling a face afterwards as those first few sips - until your tastebuds have been numbed lol - are absolutely rancid! It is an enjoyable taste in my opinion and would suggest it to anybody, even cheaper versions!
