Advantages: Fresh, fruity and a good cocktail schnapps.

Disadvantages: None

My mum buys this drink for me every christmas, so I can have a small tipple on christmas eve, christmas day and beyond, it has to be one of my favourite drinks to have, especially when I am eating, or when I am sitting in the house watching tele. I find this drink is hard to buy when you are on a night out, many of the pubs that I go to, do not sell it as a schnapps to add a mixer to.

The bottle is a misted glass bottle with an orange screw top, which I feel is good as it cant just be pulled off by children, which is always good for safety purposes. The writing on the bottle is all in orange, black or silver, the bottle has a large silver circle on the front, and archers written in large capital letters so it draws your attention to the product. It also has schnapps written under the name so that you are able to tell which type of alcohol this is. The percentage of this alcohol is around 23% so not very high, but still high enough to get you drunk if you do not drink it in moderation.

The drink itself has a strong peach flavouring, which is not overpowering to the taste, the smell of the schnapps is also very powerful, worryingly the schnapps tastes just like juice, which is worrying as you do not even realise you are drinking alcohol which means you will drink more, and get more drunk than usual. When I drink this schnapps I have it with lemonade, this is because the lemonade makes the schnapps taste a lot more fresh and fruity than it does by itself, although the schnapps with just ice is still refreshing, the lemonade gives it more of a kick. It is great as a small cocktail, I try it with vodka and lemonade, the vodka makes it a lot stronger, but as vodka has no distinctive taste, you still get the refreshing taste of lemon and peach. You can also mix this drink with cranberries or orange juice to make it a lot more fruity, it just tastes like a fruit punch, which tastes really nice, and yet again does not taste like alcohol, so you are likely to get drunk a lot quicker, which I do not promote, I want to support safe drinking and in moderation.

You can buy a bottle of archers schnapps for £12.50 from tesco for a 70cl bottle, sainsburys is also priced at £12.50, but the place to go for a bargain bottle of archers schnapps is ASDA, who sell this product for £12.00. ASDA is where my Mum buys this alcohol for me every christmas, just because it is a bit cheaper than the other supermarkets, but as they say every little helps.

Overall because of the options and the variety of choices you have with what can be done with this drink, it should be a firm favourite in your drinks cabinet, not just for christmas. The price of this schnapps is also a plus side as it is definitely cheap for a 70cl bottle of alcohol these days. So if you want a fresh and fruity change, choose archers as it will definitely hit the right spot.

Summary: Buy this drink for a great cocktail drink
