Advantages: a bit different to the usual Baileys
Disadvantages: can't drink a lot of it (actually maybe that's an advantage!)
I'm a huge Baileys fan anyway, and so when they were giving out samples of the new Baileys biscotti in the duty free in Frankfurt airport a couple of months ago, I obviously had to sample it. I picked up two, one for each of us, my husband had wandered off somewhere in the meantime so I drank both!
It was really delicious and on special offer if you bought two bottles so I did! You could mix and match the Baileys flavours so I bought one biscotti and one mint chocolate.
Baileys biscotti is the newest flavour in the Baileys range, the range also incudes; the original Baileys Irish cream, Baileys hazelnut, Baileys with a hint of mint chocolate, and Baileys with a hint of coffee.
Baileys biscotti flavour is a smooth and delicious blend of the velvety smooth and luxuriously rich original Baileys Irish cream liqueur and the sweet essence and flavour of traditional Italian double baked biscotti biscuits. I wouldn't say that you can really taste biscotti as such, but this certainly does have a sweet biscuity aftertaste. I think that this works well as an after dinner drink or a night cap, one or two is enough. It's not something that you can drink a lot of as the sweet biscuity taste would get too sickly.
We normally just serve this the typical way, over lots of ice in a glass. I've also used this to make liqueur coffees, these went down really well. I've actually even added a good glug to a cappuccino and then popped a biscotti biscuit on the side to further enhance the biscotti experience, for this particular Baileys flavour I think that this is probably my favourite way to serve it. A Baileys biscotti cappuccino, followed by a Baileys biscotti over ice!
I would buy Baileys biscotti again, it's not my favourite Baileys flavour, but that's probably just because I can't drink lots of it in one go, whereas with some of the other flavours I can drink them all night.
