Advantages: Lovely rich taste, nice twist on the original Baileys, well captured biscotti flavour
Disadvantages: Calories
I am not a great fan of shots of spirits such as whiskeys and rums so when I am out and my friends go for their tipple I normally go for a more soft core Baileys over ice. I saw that the bar had this Baileys Biscotti flavour and tried that for a change, I wouldn't go for it over the original Baileys or the Mint flavour, but it was very nice.
Baileys is made by an Irish company called Gilbeys of Ireland who were the first people to bring an Irish cream drink onto the market in 1974. The drink itself is based on an Irish whiskey and cream mix of drink. Baileys original was the first and more recently they have added flavours to the drink such as mint, hazelnut and coffee. The Biscotti flavour is the most recent addition to their collection being launched in 2011.
The Baileys Biscotti flavour is based on twice baked Italian biscotti biscuits and having recently made some Biscotti biscuits myself I can honestly say it really does capture their flavour beautifully. The drink is the same colour as original Baileys drink, being a rich and velvety pale brown liquor. I find the look of Baileys is very enticing, especially over ice with a nice measure. The cream drink is quite thick in both appearance and taste and I find that one small sip really fills your mouth with flavour.
The smell of this drink is very rich and sweet, not at all like a whiskey which is why it appeals to me so much, I didn't really get any kind of biscuit smell off it. On sipping this drink I was immediately aware of the biscotti flavour, having a slightly less creamy taste and stronger tones of biscuit through. It almost reminded me of a nutty and slightly burnt aroma, but not in a bad way. I had a double measure of this over ice and I really enjoyed the flavour, it was everything I want from a Baileys drink, being rich and creamy and smooth. I find it both refreshing and warming at the same time.
If you like Baileys original then I think you would also enjoy this, there is not a huge difference in taste, just a slight biscotti tone throughout which is very pleasant to taste! Given the choice of their range I would probably put this in third place after their mint and then original flavours as it doesn't quite match up. It is easily available in bars, online and in supermarkets. These are often on offer for about £10 for a 70cl bottle which is a great price for a rich, warming and tasty tipple.

A great tasting Irish whiskey drink that is worth a try if you like the Baileys range, maybe even with a real Italian twice baked biscotti biscuit if you want a real treat!
Summary: Three stars as it is in third place for me in the Baileys range, It just didn't blow me away
