Advantages: Cheap, Tastes Good.
This liquer is like the Carribbean in a bottle, it makes you feel like you are on a beach somewhere soaking up the culture. It is extremely like Malibu but a lot cheaper, this drink can take you to Jamaica in seconds without the jetlag and the suntan (sadly). I intitally bought this alcohol as it was a cheaper alternative to Malibu which I was going to originally buy as it tastes gorgeous with lemonade, coke, or if you are looking for something a bit fruitier, and something that tasters like fruit juice, vimto works wonders.
You can hardly tell that you are drinking alcohol, which can be viewed as a good or bad thing depending on your perspective. Good because unlike many other liquers it does not burn your throat or leave a bitterness in your mouth, it does not also taste sharp, like vodka or whisky. It is a bad thing because you do not realise how much you are drinking and can become very drunk very quickly although the percentage of alcohol is low.
The taste is extremely fruity with the blissful taste of coconut, which is like waves of carribbean shores breaking onto your tongue as soon as you taste this drink. I personally have mine with Lemonade which gives the drink a more fruity and refreshing kick, or diet coke which is a lot more common. Or as mentioned above vimto gives the taste of fruit juice which can be a bit risky due to the alcohol intake.
This drink is reasonably priced at £4.99 from Tesco, it comes in a 70cl bottle, which means the price is extremely reasonable considering the amount of liquer you recieve. Plus it is just as good taste wise as Malibu which can range anything from £13 for a 70cl to £20 for a 1L bottle thesedays. This is certainly both cheap and cheerful and does not fail to disappoint, so if you are looking for a liquer with a carribbean twist and cannot afford malibu, cococabana is most definitely the choice you should make, without a doubt. The bottle also gives you the funky carribbean feel, with palm trees on the neck and a sunrise on the front, plus with a more funkier name than malibu how can you say no!
Summary: Bring Jamaica to you with this funky, relaxed carribbean drink.
