I was very happy to be invited to try a bottle of Lambrini free thanks to an invitation from website BzzAgent. They are a group who offer product freebies and money off vouchers in exchange for your honest opinion and promise to spread the word about the product you've been lucky enough to try. I was sent a voucher to redeem against any variety of 75cl sized bottle of Lambrini Fruits which is available at Asda and Morrisons. Among the flavours available were Cherry, Apple and Blackcurrent, Rose and this Peach flavour which I thought sounded most appealing.
The product comes in a large glass bottle. The top has a faux foil style champagne cork appearance but it is really just a screw off top. There is actually not much information about the product printed on the label of my bottle. This may be due to the fact that the brand are currently running a competition and most of the information on the label is dedicated to this. However, I do find the overall look of the bottle very attractive. The wine itself is a dark orange colour and the label replicates this shade in the font and picture of a juicy peach.
The brand call this drink a "slightly sparkling peach flavoured fruit wine". Their website is more helpful in detailing what kind of wine this is. It's actually called a 'perry' which means it is a light drink with a low alcohol volume. This Peach variety is 5% ABV and a bottle contains 4.1 units. The brand aim to keep prices low for these drinks and their wines start very cheaply at £1.79. However, the Fruity range is a couple of pounds more due to the duties on fruit which increases the cost.
When you open the bottle of wine there is a big hiss as the bubbles escape. A strong, sweet fruity aroma comes out of the bottle and is very appealing. It smells a bit sugary, fresh and reminds me of summertime.
The wine is best chilled or poured over ice. It makes for an attractive party drink over crushed ice. The flavour of the wine is very nice. The peach flavour is powerful but has a gentle aftertaste and it actually feels more like you are drinking a soft beverage than a bitter wine. The wine is fresh and the bubbles are sharp. The more you drink the warmer the drink starts to feel. Although the drink is sweet and fruity it never becomes sickly sweet or too overpoweringly fruity. It is a very feminine drink though, due to the delicate flavour and the way it looks and sparkles in the glass!
Overall this is a nice drink to either start a party off or have a quiet, casual drink with friends. I managed to get this around the time of my birthday and it was the perfect addition to the evening. Trying this has made me want to try the other flavours in the range and I would recommend this to all ladies looking for a nice tasting, light alcoholic drink. I would certainly buy this again. I have had some comments made to me about how cheap the drink is and how this could indicate a lower quality product but I don't think this is the case at all.
