Advantages: Nice social drink
Disadvantages: Gives killer hangovers
I don't drink that often and when I do I tend to go for something a little sweet. I don't do lager or anything of that sort and tend to stick to the alcopops or the sweet spirits. I first came across taboo one night in a pub I worked in when I was after something sweet to drink with a low percentage. I opted for a taboo and lemonade.
Taboo is basically a fruity flavoured spirit that contains vodka, white wine and fruit juice. The drink itself is very sweet and although the sweeter the better for me I could never drink this straight. The perfect mixer for taboo is lemonade. By adding lemonade it takes away and tones down some of the sweetness. Beware since this drink is only 14.9% you don't really feel yourself getting drunk till its maybe too late.
Taboo and lemonade makes a very nice refreshing drink with ice however it does just taste like pop so it has to be drunk carefully. Taboo costs around £7.00 for a 70cl bottle which is a lot cheaper than other spirits available such as Malibu and archers and it does taste equally as nice as these more expensive sweet spirits.
If you don't like to have a horrible hangover then I would not recommend this drink for some reason every time I have drank taboo I end up ill the next day suffering from headaches.
Overall taboo is a light refreshing alcoholic drink that can be enjoyed sensibly. It is possible to drink the whole bottle but be prepared to regret it the following morning.
Summary: I like it
