I had been a long term customer of this bank and had always had my bank accont with them into which my salary was paid.

I never really bothered to shop around when it came to get a car loan I just visited my local branch.

All the staff could tell me was to use one of the phones inside the branch to apply as they did not make the decision in the branch. I had to stand in a public area and give out lots of personal information to someone I could hardly understand for about 15 minutes before being told I had been declined. This individual seemed more keen to get onto the next customer rather than tell me why and none of the staff could help only giving me a leaflet.

I have since moved my account to First Direct who are a lot better.
