I made an internet application for a loan with this company, the web site stated that I would receive documentation within 48 hours, as I made the application fairly late on a Wednesday, I was noy unduly concerned when no documentation had arrived by Saturday. When Monday arrived with still no documentation, I contacted them to say I had received no documents, their call centre employee told me "there no problem, your loan has been approved you should have the forms in the next day or so". We bought a house recently and used Northern Roack through a local broker. Everything was going ok until we told them that my partners wage was going to increase and they said they would recalculate it. This meant we could put an offer in for the house we wanted. Which we did! All they has to do was do a small calculation of his new hourly rate multiplyed by the hours he worked in a week. Sounds simple you may ask, no, it took them 4 weeks to do this calculation. I did it myself on the calculator and it took me approx 4seconds. We were on the phone to them and our broker every day for weeks, right up until the day before we were due to get the keys for our new house ...

When I intially took out my Northern Rock Loan I found their customer Service excellent and very efficent. However I wanted to repay my loan early and found that was where the service was lacking somewhat. I had to call them a second time to verify my settlement sum and found that after a few months my settlement figure was way over what my intial loan had been. considering it had had several repayments made I was surprised. I was told intially I would have to send a cheque and then when I re-rang I was told I could use my debit card over the phone and had to cancel the direct debit myself. ...
