Advantages: Intially very easy to set up

When I intially took out my Northern Rock Loan I found their customer Service excellent and very efficent. However I wanted to repay my loan early and found that was where the service was lacking somewhat. I had to call them a second time to verify my settlement sum and found that after a few months my settlement figure was way over what my intial loan had been. considering it had had several repayments made I was surprised. I was told intially I would have to send a cheque and then when I re-rang I was told I could use my debit card over the phone and had to cancel the direct debit myself.
