I think it is an absoloute disgrace that students cannot get grants anymore, this will surely keep bright smart talented young people from going to university. Those who do go to university will be left with crippling debts run up by the cost of living, not excessive alcoholisim which many people think is all students spend there money on.

Only those rich parents who fork out cash for their children to go to university are the ones that can truely afford it. Students who go away from their own country to study are worse affected, as they have to pay for travelling costs all the time and cannot come home at the weekends.

I think what the Labour government has done in introducing loans instead of grants is a disgrace. They will only suceed in dertering our smartest children from going to university.
