Advantages: Further education, training for the real world

Disadvantages: Expensive?

University? Should the government pay for it? That is what I thought, and I was deeply angered when I had to pay £1025 last year for my tuition fees.

However, I'm in my second year at University and can finally see what the Government are doing.

During my free time I have to work - this helps me mature.

I have to manage my finances better - ready for the real world.

I have to liaise for efficiently with companies, such as the Student Loans Company and Banks etc.

And have amazing facilities at University.

Some people argue that gifted people can't afford University - but the Government means test so that if you can't you WILL be subsidised.

Some parents don't use their money on their children and some children use this as an excuse to stop further education.

All I can say, I'm getting more and more prerpared for the real world every day...

(Please note I'm not FOR the fees, but I understand them - the facilities I have are amazing.)

I didn't go to University but feel that there shouldn't be any fees providing the right grades of A-levels were achieved - Kay

I don't think the fees are necessary... Parents contribute through taxes already, so why be forced to pay more?
