Advantages: Gives us some money, no interest as yet

Disadvantages: Not even enough money for a diet of beans, less for finalists, who need more to cover their overdrafts

Who told the student loans company that final year students were more affluent???? Who?????? Any why????????????
I unfortunately have parents who's income band falls just over the line, so i get no means tested support at all, but my parents can't aford to give me much extra. It is hard enough trying to get by on what they give as a basic rate without them cutting it for finalists. It stands at a measly £2485!!!!
I made the mistake of choosing Durham University as the place to spend my student years, and, in order to make up for accounting incompetency in the past, they have given us poor students a rent hike so we will be paying in excess of £90 a week for crummy accomodation and crap food (wahey!!!!!!!). This just aint good for my bank balance!!!! Whilst the student loans company may think that, as a third year student i will be more affluent (god only knows where they got that idea from!), i will be worse off, and having to pay more for my university accomodation. The lesson to learn from this, DON'T COME TO DURHAM UNIVERSITY, and get on with campaigning against the government over student loans!!!!
