Advantages: useful to have some money, at least it doesn't have to be paid back until you can earn enough

Disadvantages: not enough!

I'm a student at Imperial College in South Kensington, and although London students get over £1000 more than students elsewhere, would like to point out that this is not really enough. Whilst my friends in other places will be looking at paying £40 a week for accomodation, I will be paying £90 a week, and they are shocked when they see how different prices are in even simple things like travel. I honestly don't know how you could go to uni. in LOnodn if you had to pay your own tuition fees as well. As a medic, I am also going to have a 48 week year, so my accomodation will automatically cost almost more than I get in a year! I don't have a problem with having to pay back my student loan, but do wish that there was some appreciation of just how much living costs can come to and that not ALL students' money is spent in bars and clubs.
