Advantages: Can afford to pay own way through uni, low interest rate.

Disadvantages: Comes as a real shock when you have to pay it back, the money always seemed to dispear too quickly.

In an ideal world all education would be free but as this world is nowhere near ideal then I'll settle for paying for my own education in order that nursery schools will be free (they really can't afford to pay).
When I first got my loan I felt quite proud of myself, the fact that in effect I was paying my own way through university. It became slightly less fun when last month I had to start paying them back at a rate of £100 a month. However you've got to be philosophical on these matters, and without my degree I would not be in a position where I could afford to pay back my loan nor could I have prospects to earn more in the future. It does seem like a lot of money to pay back, but on speaking to an accountant at work they told me not to hurry paying back my loan as it was the cheapest money I'd ever get...and its true, its far cheaper than normal banks loans. This bit of information made me more relaxed about my huge debts, and like I say you've got to specualte to accumalte so heres hoping that a couple of years down the line it'll have all been worth it.
