Tesco Personal FinanceNewest Review: ... I amended the form and returned it.. Then the waiting started. After a week, Tesco were claiming they had not received the documents. Various excuses, including ridiculous claims of "a post strike", "problems in the post room" etc. At Day 10, they confirmed receipt, then informed me the forms "go into a pile", and it would be another undefined number of days before the "sanctioning team" looked at them. Turned out to be five days. So - twenty days before applying and having the loan finally approved. The funds were issued on that same day - to the wrong account. Another five days later, I received... more |

I applied online - the form is detailed and fairly time-consuming, but fair enough, credit is hard to come by these days. The "initial approval" came a full week later; it was a request for a month's bank statements and a contract to sign. My account number had been entered incorrectly on this; I amended the form and returned it.. Then the waiting started. After a week, Tesco were claiming they had not received the documents. As you can imagine, over the years, we have had ups and downs with the various financial institutions, as some are far better than others.......Tesco Finance, through whom we borrowed £10000 over 5 years, were, absolutely, one of the very best, and I would not hesitate to use them again if the need presented itself, or to recommend them to someone else. We applied for this ... Read the complete review

It's not just building societies that can become banks, supermarkets can try to do it too! Personal loans are available for any purpose. You get a low rate of interest at just 9.6% and if you borrow over £5000 you get it even cheaper at 8.2%. This is excellent. If you look round and compare you find that this is one of the best interest rates. Tesco credit card facilities ... Read the complete review

I didn’t realise that Tesco had so many financial products until I opened an ISA account with them. To be quite honest I just looked on it as a supermarket that had a pretty good petrol station in the car park. You can apply for a loan to buy a car or to improve your home, even for that long over due holiday. The rates are quite competitive compared to the high street banks. For a £2000 loan you pay 9.6% and only 8.2% if you borrow £5000. Payment protection cover is pretty standard rate but I think it is wise to get cover on any loan you never know what is around the corner and it gives you peace of mind. They even offer credit cards ... Read the complete review
