Advantages: Windows look attractive

Disadvantages: Truly dreadful, almost deceitful, customer service

We had Anglian Windows fitted throughout our house on the basis of their strong name and ten year guarantee. This was a mistake.

We now have two window handles that are not working and have been told that we are liable for a £102 service charge plus £54 for each hour or part of an hour if an engineer is called out and finds either we have not been lubricating the windows with WD40 or the fault is due to wear and tear! Who expects to have to oil their maintenance free windows? Where and when is this requirement mentioned - apart, apparently from the back of the quarantee? And what on earth is fair wear and tear for a window handle guaranteed for ten years?

The original installation of our windows was not pain free - the surveyor specificed the wrong sizes and the fitters had to be called back twice to rectify mistakes - so I guess we should not be surprised by the shoddy standard of guarantee support.

This is a company that is an outwardly respectable and significant player in the double glazing market with a premium product offering. Sadly, the reality is quite different. I would strongly advise you to look elsewhere.
