Ashworth Build and Design

Please avoid these cowboys at any cost. At first, they act as if they were real professionals. As soon as they have nailed the job, they start to delay your work, while working on other sites at the same time. They never insist, neither they like to have a written-down and binding contract, so they have the free hand to do whatever they want. The quote they give is purposely designed very vaguely, so they can add items for extra charge as they go, thus doubling or tripling the original quote they gave. On the top of that they produce really lowest quality of work at a highly overpriced rate, while utilising the cheapest material on the market, in order to maximise their profit. They are a shame and disgrace for British contractors.

Ref review by 'M'. I also had work done by LIP Building Maintenance of Gosforth and would recommend that anyone considering LIP should look elsewhere. The standard of work was very poor and the attitude of the owner was disgraceful. Had to get another company in to put some of the jobs right, at considerable expense.

RICHMOND DEVELOPMENTS (Surrey / London) were aggressive to the point of almost being violent.

Needless to say they have not carried out work for us nor have we ever engaged them to do any (so no gripes over poor workmanship etc here)

With many good builders out there avoid RICHMOND DEVELOPMENTS at all costs is our advice

Although we clearly told Mr Lockyer about my severe allergy to cigarette smoke, I was made quite ill with breathing problems by a builder smoking on my doorstep (two different builders did this at different times, no excuse!), door was open and the smoke drifted inside.
Building generally OK but very slow moving and took about a year when we were told it would be 4-6 months!
