Everest Double Glazing not worth paying extra for. (Double Glazing in General)

Advantages: supply 12mm glass if you are next to a busy A road or close to an Airport

Disadvantages: Poor after service. Only 3 miniutes from us but has taken three months to fix

We live by the side of a busy A road and wanted the best double glazing money could buy. So we choose Everest. We paid over £6,000 for 5 windows 4ft x 4ft and a door. We paid £300 extra for 12mm glass for added sound proofing. This price was discounted by 45% so should have been £11,000

On day of fitting they fitted a cracked window but still took our cheque and did not tell us. When I looked at the windows after they had gone i noticed the damage and got on the phone straight away.

The engineer came out the next day and I told him that I did not expect to have to inspect windows fitted by Everest as they should be 'The Best'. Not being a specialist in double glazing I would not know what was right and wrong. The engineer checked the fittings and found a long list of faults.
Widows not aligned, door panels different colours, trim not fitted right, different coloured handles on windows (some white and some silver) and a badly leaking letterbox.

We waited two and a half months for them to sort out the leaking letterbox as it was destroying our wood floor and soaking the door curtain and mail every time it rained. We are still waiting at the time of writing this and would you believe it, they are only three minutes drive down the road and they pointed this out when they sold us the windows.

If I could take them out and have my old windows back I would.
I will never use Everest again. All windows now have to be BS standard and I wish I had used one of the cheaper companies and saved myself £3,000
