Advantages: Quality?

Disadvantages: Price. Customer Service.

Having looked at 3 or 4 different glazing suppliers, I was persuaded that Everest windows were a premium product, that the customer services would at least as good as any other company and that the additional cost would be worth-while. I also went for the roofline, guttering etc.

I was wrong.

1. The 'on time, every time' claim (that now seems to have been dropped from their web site).

They didn't show on the arranged date to fit the roofline products. I telephone them in the afternoon and was told that they weren't coming. A new date was arranged.

Again, they didn't show (or contact me to tell me they weren't going to show). I telephoned them and was told they would be there the following day.

They appeared on the second day but didn't bother on the third. I think they managed half a day on the fourth day and had to return the following week to finish what should have been a 2 day job.

When fitting the last window, they failed to show 4 times in total. Despite telephoning me twice to say they would be there the following day, twice they failed to show up and twice they declined to bother telling me. In the end I just stopped calling, as it clearly made no difference.

2. Customer services telephone.

Having had to make many, many calls to their customer services I found that the telephone is only answered approximately 25% of the time. (the 'best customer services'?)

3. No window to fit!

You'd think they would check they had a window to put in before taking the old one out? No. Left for 5 days with a boarded up bedroom window. Apparently we were 'lucky' it was only 5 days as they had a cancellation.

4. A window that didn't fit.

Apparently, as I had signed off the surveyors measurements that was my fault though. So I had to make arrangements (at my expense) for the aperture to be altered to fit the window - or face court action for the outstanding payment.

5. 25% APR finance agreement.

When offered an additional 10% off the purchase price for signing up to their finance agreement (that you can get out of at any stage without penalty) I took it. They make it extremely difficult to get out of though! No one seemed to be able to tell me how to pay by cheque to avoid the punitive APR and thus, despite several phone calls, the finance agreement kicks in.

6. Customer services - in writing.

Having put all this in writing (whilst awaiting the last window to go in - about a month after it should have). Their customer services declined to acknowledge the letter or respond.

When I followed up with another letter a month later (last window fitted but faulty) none of my questions were answered, no apology was offered, just a terse letter telling me the replacement parts were on order.

My opinion:
Everest's customer services are the worst I have ever experienced from any company.
The basic things I had expected; timeliness, courtesy, professionalism were absent without explanation or apology.

A company that deliberately obfuscates their prices deserves suspicion. I will very obviously not use Everest again under any circumstances. I will also avoid any other company that goes to such great lengths to mislead customers about the value of their products. 40% off the quoted price seems to be the starting point for negotiations.

This is all in my own opinion and based on my personal experiences. Everest have had opportunity to respond to these points but have so far declined. They have had 3 months.

Summary: Extremely poor customer services. Avoid Everest at all costs.

I think Everest windows are good, the big problem is they do not have skilled staff to fit them they made a dreadfull mess of my home it was bordering on criminal damage. I would never recomend Everest not even to my worst enemy. I found both installers very rude as well as office staff.
