INCOMPETENCE, POOR SERVICE, AND A LOT OF TROUBLE (Double Glazing in General)

We called Crystal Windows to quote for the replacement of 31 windows this year. There are five privately owned flats in our block and some communal areas so quite a lot of windows altogether. We had quotes from 4 different double glazing companies. We chose Crystal as it seemed to have decent prices for good quality productS. We also purchased all new roofline work from them so to replace old gutters, soffits and fascias. Crystal provided the scaffolding lifts as well through their parent company Top Lift. Unfortunately the whole project was a nightmare. Although the Sales Represesentative was a very nice man he didn t have any project management skills and left us very often in dark as to what was happening. From day one we had to chase every single departmet involved and it has been such hard work. Here a list of a few of the problems we had:

- incorrect windows design
- incorrect window measurements (Incompetent and arrogant Surveyor)
- incopetent and unscrupulous roofers ( cutting corners to make even bigger margins in even less time)
- scaffolding erected in breach of most health and safety regulations
- scaffolders rude, disrespectful and making racist comments whilst at work, they bombed scaffolding parts to the ground and broke private property without offering an apology
- incorrect invoicing
- incorrect issue of FENSA certification and guarantees
- general poor management of the business with not one single person ready to take responsibility

The window fitters were all very nice and competent men. Although in one of the flat they damaged some wooden flooring.

The windows look good but they are certainly not worth the hassle and frustrution we had to endure.

Do not use Crystal to replace your windows, doors, garage doors and or to or any roofline.

Summary: We had a very negative experience buying windows, roofline and renting the scaffolding from Crystal
