Advantages: very sound product
Disadvantages: very expensive, too much faffing about to get the real quote figure
We had a rep call on us offering apointments, and as we were at the time considering a new porch we agreed to an appointment. The chap turned up 1/2 hour early and was quite rude when we asked him to wait in his car as we were eating. At the allotted time he came in the house and started his speil, we were very impresseed with the product, and he went through our finances to see what we could afford to spare each month, he then began measuring up, this done and 2 hours later he came up with a quote. Now bearing in mind our porch is 2ft by 4ft the quote was a staggering £4567. Quite obviously not being prepared to pay this amount out we said no way, so he then came up with another quote if we had their sign outside the house it would knock a third off the price, still unhappy with this he then progressed to ring his manager to see what 'deal' he could offer, yes again he came back with an even lower price about half the original but still we were not happy and asked him to leave. the man became quite rude saying that if i quit smoking we would be able to afford it, and if we got rid of our cats it would give us more money. At this point he had been in our home for 4 hours and showed no sign of leaving, it was only when we started putting shoes and coats on that he agreed to leave. We have since heard other similar tales from friends about this same rep, despite ours and their complaints about him. So anyone considering coldseal, i wouldnt bother, not only because of this man, but because of their technique of giving 3 different quotes.

- 13/05/03 This sales pitch is used by 'Zenith' too and we halved the price in the same way. I presume there is an American style training school behind the methods, they are so easily seen through.
After four months of inefficiencies, we are still waiting for completion of the installation. It's hard to credit how such crass service is achieved by the whole industry. |

- 11/02/01 Has anyone heard their ad on the radio, it is realy jolly! Although recently another company started advertising stating that they wouldn't indulge in this kind or sales practice, so perhaps word realy did get round. |
