I am a real customer describing a real event that happened yesterday. This review is certainly not "the competition bad mouthing a company" as some well known Glazing companies tell potential customers, when asked about past customers negative reviews on their work.

In May we got a quote from Crystal Windows to replace the windows of a house we are renovating. We decided we needed to add additional opening as we had just had the loft completed. Crystal visited for the second time and re measured and gave us a quote which we negotiated and then finally agreed upon.

Some good few weeks later on the day of the Survey and measuring I get a call from one of the managers saying they made a mistake in their quotation and that if I wanted to go ahead with the windows I had to pay an additional £1200.00

When I questioned this they told me that there must have been a misunderstanding on both sides as they say when they agreed on the price they didn't have all the details of the final second visit and that they only had details of the salesman's first visited. This was absolute rubbish as their story didn't add up, they visited and measured twice, and they gave me a quote which was negotiated and agreed. Be warned it's their way of trying to manipulate the customer.

I have found their behaviour unprofessional, grossly incompetent and a ridiculous way in which to conduct business. Needless to say I have pulled out of the agreement, even though they persisted in calling me trying to get to me to pay the extra cost. Telling me it was still a great deal.

They only apologised once I noted they had not up untill that point done so, instead saying that it was the fault of their salesperson who failed to show them the entire paperwork. They seem to fail to understand that if this is indeed true which is very questionable, the failings of their salesman are the failings of Crystal as a whole, and such instances should not occur to a supposedly reputable company of this size. You can't agree a price with a customer and then change your mind.

My personal advise to anyone thinking of using them is not to bother and to research the company you are planning to use, it will save you a lot of wasted time and money.
