Advantages: a good product, reasonable prices

Disadvantages: we had a few problems with them.

Safestyle UK offer double glazing and doors, they do not do secondary glazing. They use Pilkington glass. I'[ve recently had several windows fitted by them and would like to share the expereince.

We needed two bay windows and a bathroom double glazing - the old wood frames were getting dangerous, and the glass was making the house very cold. Coldseal had quoted us in excess of four thousand pounds for the job. Safestyle UK managed to cut that cost by over a thousand pounds, which immediatly made them appealing. I do not beleive in cutting corners and getting cheap and nasty stuff, but equally, I do not like being ripped off.

The sales bloke from Safestyle was relaxed and not aggressive - he told us about the product and made little effort to do a hard sell, which was a nice surprise. The chap who came to survey the house was charming. The four men who came to fit the windows were pleasant and worked very hard. There was only one problem - one of our window sills had not been made correctly and did not fit. This was discovered only after the original window had been removed. I was not happy. The workmen set to, phoning their company, getting the surveyor back out, and getting things sorted. They mocked up a window that would be waterproof over night, and assured me that a new sill would arrive the following day - it did, and the windows were finished within the time frame initially stated. The men worked tidily and careully, although old plaster and dubious wallpaper came off none the less. They replatstered where appropriate, but we will need to redecorate one of the rooms. (it needed doing, so this is no real hardship.)

Safestyle were not perfect, and for a while they had me really worried. Their product, now that it is in, is excellent - noise stays out, draughts have gone, and the structural integrity of the front of the house is assured. The windows seem to have been fairly good value for money - a much better deal than Coldseal at
any rate.

We've had some follow up calls - no one gets paid until we confirm that we are happy with the work that has been done.

I would recomend safestyle - in spite of the technical hitch - they did a good job, they didn't try to over charge us, and their product is of very good quality.
