We had our double glazing put in last year, and couldnt believe the difference in our central heating bills, I think we are saving about £20 per month on the gas bill which I think is really good.



We had about 4/5 different salesmen around our house to give us a qoute on how much it would cost to have the windows and doors put in, and I was very shocked, we had one quote that was as much as £7000 and the lowest quote was £2500. I must add that the highest qoute was from a very well known comany (sutton windows).

The highest quote that we was given was for double glazing with external beading, this means that the double glazing can be removed from the outside, this I do not think is very secure. And I was very suprised that it was our highest qoute too.

In the end we decided to go with a local company called P J Plastics who qouted us £2700, it was a little higher than the cheapest qoute but the salesperson was very good (not pushy) and the product was of a very high standard.

Included in the price was for the double glazing to be georgian stlye, this makes the windows look extra special.

I cant ever imagine not having double glazing as it is a very worth while LUXURY.



So dont go with your first quote, get as many as you can and dont be afraid to ask questions, and if the salesman is pushy or rude or looks like he is rushing then look somewhere else as all salesmen are not like that.
