Situated right smack bang in the middle of Alness high street, this popular little post office is central to parking and to gain access, especially as there is a bus stop literally on the door step.

The shop is easy to get into as it is all on the level with no steps at all.

Inside the shop is a fair size, it is basically split into 2, at the front there is the 'shop' part, where you will find displays of gifts, stationary, occasions cards, and toys. If you do want to buy anything from here you have to go to the counter just at the door, this is handy as you are not queueing for ages just to pay for a purchase in the mail section of the shop.

The prices of the items are decent. They are not overly expensive, but there not cheap either. They do have a nice selection of ornamental pieces on the window display which always has me stopping and looking - and usually this is where i'll get my parents presents for birthdays and christmases etc.

The post office section is at the back where you can pay for bills such as your rent, telephone bill etc, you can also buy meter tokens and top up your phone with no problems. There is usually 2 tellers on but there can be up to 4 at a time. The shop can get very busy especially when its around christmas and you are posting all your parcels away and wanting to pay for things so you don't have to worry over the festive period. Although it can get quite busy during lunch time especially as many workers take this time to get things posted - if like me when they sell on ebay this is the only time they can get to send it if they are working.

The only problem I would have with this is the queue situation. There used to be an organised queue barrier, but this has been removed and now the customers end up queueing right down the centre of the shop. This can be very frustrating for customers who are looking to view the shelves of the displays. The old system of queueing really needs to come back. Many customers do get rather annoyed with this especially those who are queuing and are getting pushed and prodded by those trying to see what's on the shelves.

Apart from that though all the staff are extremely polite and work efficiently and quickly so that each issues is dealt with. They will do everything for there customers, and will help with any issues. I have to admit I enjoy just going in and browsing the shop and having a look around, more than likely I will come out with something, but only because it's of a high quality. I write this on helphound aswell.
