Gareth Benson Golf Coach

Gareth Benson is a golf coach whose academy is situated a few minutes off the East Lancashire Road, just off the M60 motorway in Astley Lancashire.

Gareth was the golf professional at Westhoughton Golf Club until a couple of years ago when he bought his own golf driving range at Astley in Wigan Lancashire.

Gareth has some very impressive golfing qualifications under his belt. He is the Director of Golf at Astley Driving Range and is a Class AA Golfing professional which is an exceptionally high ranking given by the PGA or Professional Golfers Association. Gareth is also a NPL Master Practitioner ( Mental Coach) and has been on a number of sports psychology courses as well as being the Lancashire County Coach, coach to international players, YMG coach ( see below ) as well as a Custom Fit Club Fitter.
From raw beginner to European Tour Players Gareth holds a wealth of experience to pass on to his tutees. He has been working as a golf coach for 20 plus years working hadn in hand with some of the top golf coaches from around the world Tiger's ex coach Butch Harmon to name but one!!

Gareth has a very friendly teaching manner whilst remaining the true professional. He always takes the time to ask how your game is going and if you have had much practice and also how you are finding putting into practice improvements to your swing from his teachings. He explains things in a manner that is easy to understand and ensures that everything is fully understood and that you not only know what you should be doing but also what it feels like to actually go through the motions and do it. he works at a speed that you are happy with and constantly ensures that you have taken all the necessary points. Gareth ensures that you feel what you need to do in your quest for the perfect swing by either physically moving your body through the motions processes required or by using the latest state of the art training aid the K Vest. see below...

Gareth frequently writes for the golf magazine Todays Golfer and at the moment is working with the Bolton Evening News creating a series of golf lessons. There is not much that Gareth Benson doesn't know about the golf swing. He certainly knows much more than his age, being in his mid 30's suggests.

Apart from coaching the Lancashire squads, Gareth has ipassed his knowledge on to a countless number of players of all ages and abilities including, briefly, Seve Ballesteros, the Spaniard,

Endorsed by the PGA, Gareth describes the programme as ultimately giving the player a golfing bible, which it does in the form of an A4 sized binder full of every golfing tip that a youngester could wish for.

Gareth not only used the latest tried and tested techniques but also uses the latest training aids and has his own private room which includes highly technical video technology using video cameras from 2 angles allowing you to view your swing on a large screen, comparing it against the swings of any professional you choose, Tiger himself or Ernie Els for example. Gareth in his quest to give his customers the ultimate learning experience has also recently purchased a K vest which you wear and can view the muscles within your body as they power through the golf swing. Very few professionals use this latest technology due to its expense and because it has so recently been developed.
