I have been a member of my local library since I was a little girl and even now, my library card is very well used!

When you join a library you can take books from any library in your county council area so you arent limited to your home town. You can usually take up to six books and have them for four weeks at a time. If you dont manage to finish your book in this time, you can just renew it. This can be done by phone these days so you dont need to worry about getting down there.

The choice of books is amazing. You can borrow fictional books on a huge choice of writers and a huge amount of subjects. If you fancy learning a new skill then check out your local library because they are bound to have many useful books on the subject.

Your local library is a fantastic way of introducing your children to books. Reading is such an important fact of life and the sooner children get interested in books the more likely they are to enjoy them later on in life. Libraries have books for children of all ages. Why not borrow a few books for your baby. Babies love playing with books and looking at the bright pictures. It will certainly save you some money and the library dont mind if there are food stains on the books or teeth marks even!

Libaries also cater for people whos eyesight isnt that great. There is quite a range of large print books so dont think that you will be left out.

Of course libraries arent all about books these days. You can hire CDs and videos and even access the internet. If you are not a member all ready...what are you waiting for!! Become a member and start enjoying books again!
