So after visiting Stafford registry office to give our notice of marriage we have travelled to Lichfield registry office which is where we actually are getting married. Now we decided to get married here because it is convenient and we had never even seen the registry office but we have now been a couple of times and it is beautiful so here is why.
The registry office is at the following location;
The old library building
Bird street
Lichfield
WS13 6PN
Location wise and you cant get anywhere better than this registry office. It is easily found as it is right by the Cathedral which is sign posted from all over Lichfield and it is also on quite a main street so you can get to it very easily by car, bus and train to Lichfield. So when you have found it you have the rest of the location to amaze you.
The actual building is very old and looks extremely majestic. You will notice it straight away as it is huge and has the library signposted on the building. There is a small car park near by and there is also parking in the park so you shouldn't have any issues at all. It is quite an impressive looking building and it is great that it overlooks the cathedral which is just simply stunning.
The other thing you will notice about the location is that it is right in the middle of the park so you can take a walk around and see the amazing flowers and greenery and there is even a small park there. The scenery is gorgeous and when you leave the registry office, you leave onto the park which is just so lovely.
When you walk into the building it kind of reminds me of an old school building as it has corridors with sign posts everywhere. It is quite modern inside and you are lead straight into the reception area. This is quite a small area and has been manned every time we have been which is good and the staff are so helpful. I can imagine that we were quite annoying as we had no idea what a registry office ceremony entails but they sat with us for a good half hour explaining it all to us and we hadn't even booked an appointment to see them.
The wedding room is very sweet with about 30 seats and has beautiful views over the garden. The whole building is very clean and very quiet which I like but there is such a warm and homely feel to it.
Now I can obviously only comment on the wedding side of things but the staff have been fantastic and it is a great venue if it is a registry office you want. I am sure though that the staff will help you whatever query and I was very impressed with them all.
In conclusion it is a lovely place and I will update this review when I have had the wedding with how it all went on the day.
Thanks for reading.
xxx
