Manchester Window Factory are a very reliable company. Run by two brothers with a lot of industry knowledge. They are to the dear end of the market but use, high quality, German products. Our experience of them was very positive and we would gladly recommend them
WE HAD MANCHESTER WINDOW FACTORY TO REPLACE THE WINDOWS AT THE FRONT OF OUR HOUSE, THEIR MAN ALEX WAS A PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH AND NO REQUEST WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE, THE WORK WAS CARRIED OUT ON TIME AND WE HAVE BEEN REALLY PLEASED WITH BOTH THE ACTUAL WINDOWS AND THE QUALITY OF THE WORK. I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO RECOMMEND MANCHESTER WINDOW FACTORY AS THE WORK IS GOOD AND THE COST IS VERY VERY COMPETITIVE
We initially found this company on http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews240723.html#Reviews
We found them to be honest and reliable from day 1 and the standard of workmanship is excellent. They did everything they promised on time and with none of the usual BS selling techniques
From our first contact with MWf we have felt that we were in good hands. Reading all the positive reviews on the net reassured us that we would be dealing with professionals but until you actually use a product/service you never really know what you are going to get. We have been really impressed by the attention to detail. Danny went through lots of things others hadn't even thought of (like using black window cills to match the original character of the house) which made us think he really cares about getting the job right......not just getting the order!! The locking system is by far the best we have seen and the additional cost of this system didn't blow us away. They were still marginally cheaper than one of the big companies but more expensive than the local ones. On the whole I think that for the whole job we job the best value for money. Everybody concerned has communicated well with us and made sure we were happy at every step. We are so glad we chose them and will be using them again in the future.
Danny and Alex are true professionals. We had all the windows and doors fitted to our bungalow in Stockport and the whole process ran like clockwork. There was never any pressure to sign up and, when we did take the plunge, they were in constant contact with us, letting us know what was happening at each stage of the process. Despite a manufacturing error with one of the glazed units, the job ran smoothly and was completed on time. Alex called to check on progress on day three, which we found reassuring. This company knows what their customers want and shows them respect throughout. We may have a conservatory next year and it is nice to know we have a good company we can rely on to deliver what we want.
After sitting through hours and hours of sales speel we were getting really fed up and just wanted to place an order, but we weren't comfortable with the people we had in. Thinking 'better the devil you know' we had pretty much decided to go with Everest as they have been around for years and have a good reputation-or so we thought. We did a bit of digging around on the net before placing our order and read countless horror stories about them so I think we had a lucky escape. I suppose, to be fair, most people only write reviews when they are peed off but some of the stories of the after sales and the sales tactics put is right off. We found MWF while doing this research and I'm so glad we did. Just like the reviews have said, Danny came round, discussed our requirements, told us a little bit about his company and left. He emailed us a quote that evening for us to consider and that was it. Needless to say, they got the job. The work has been completed to a very high standard and Danny and Alex both called to see us as the work progressed to ensure that we were happy with everything. All in all this has been a pleasant experience and nothing like what we had feared. We are so glad we did our homework before taking the plunge and will be using these review sites again before any other major purchases. Kind regards Jane Grayson
We had a large project to complete so decided to do it in stages and used MWF each time. We started with the front windows as these required the most urgent attention. To retain the character of the property we wanted the stained glass to be kept but, as they were in such poor condition, weren't sure if this would be possible. Paul, their stained glass expert, called to see the job first and said it wouldn't be a problem despite the fact that they were very badly bowed. We had seen on their website that they specialised in these things but we were still anxious to see how it would look. Well, they look amazing. The bows have been taken out and any cracked glass has been replaced with an exact match. I really wasn't expecting anything quite this good! The next project was the rear windows and these too look wonderful. They had too replace a lintel above one of them but only charged us the cost price for it-which was good of them. They have just finished by replacing the rear porch and tiled roof and, once again, the standard of workmanship has been really high. I think the reason for these high standards lies in the fact that Danny and Alex have a good relationship with their fitting teams. I have had workers in the past who have done nothing but complain about their employers, but these fitters have been different. They seem to want to go the extra mile too keep customers happy. I suppose they like working for a company with a good reputation as this keeps them busy. It's no wonder that we had to wait six weeks when all the others were telling us 2-3 weeks but it was worth the wait each time.
We did a lot of research into which companies offered the most energy efficient products. It was through this research that we concluded we would either be placing an order with manchester window factory or Everest. We invited both to quote as well as another local firm offering slightly less energy efficient products just to get a cost comparison. Manchester window factory came out on top as their Planitherm glass coupled with argon gas and beautiful looking products was by far the best option. The fact that they employ their window fitters was also a massive plus. The work has now been completed and we are very happy with the finished job and highly recommend them. Thanks. David Turner, Wilmslow
Very happy to say we went with this company and they delivered on their promises. Danny came to see us at the time arranged and was pleasant and advised us about different options we could choose from including hinges, glass types an so on. His price was fair for the quality of the product. The chap who came to measure up turned up when he said he would and walked round the job with us to make sure we were happy with all of the designs. Alex called us to book in a fit date and sure enough, 6 weeks later the fitters turned up on the dot and got to work. They worked non stop and tidied as they went, my wife was so please as she was a little apprehensive about the mess but needn't have been. This is an A1 company and we would certainly recommend them to anyone thinking about having double glazing done. Barry and Sheila, North Yorks
The Deceuninck 2800 series with A rated glass and sac bolt locking was the best product we found after doing lots of research for our windows. We have found a noticeable difference in both acoustic and thermal efficiency. The windows feel very secure and the quality of the installation matches that of the product itself. The installation was handled professionally from start to finish. No complaints at all.
We had windows fitted by them six years ago and had a problem with the handle on our kitchen window. When we called them about this we were told that the mechanism was now obsolete but they would look into it for us. Alex called us back the same day to let us know that he had sourced one for us and somebody would be round the next day to fix it. Sure enough the next day they were there and the problem was fixed.
Alex and Danny should be very proud of their company. They work very hard to look after their customers. I'm sure not all companies out there are this good. As Alex said to me, you find out what a company is really like after you have paid them and you need them back. This company do come back and are really trustworthy and honour the guarantees they give.
I have recently had all of my windows replaced by this company. I live in a Victorian house and was really conscious of keeping the character of the house unlike some of my neighbours grrrrrrrr. Hardwood was the only option for me. Getting quotes for plastic windows is easy but there really aren't many options for hardwood. I had two guys round from local joinery shops and neither of them even bothered getting back to me. I came across this company after speaking to a friend who had recently had work done by them so I called and invited them to quote without much hope after my past experiences with other firms. Anyway, Danny came to visit me the next day. He went through the house with me and asked me how I'd like the windows to look. He explained that he could match the existing windows exactly as their windows were bespoke and could be manufactured to virtually any design. He explained where the timber was from sourced from and that they were FSC certified which was important to me. I didn't realise that there were so many options for hardwood in terms of paint finsh, locking mechanisms, and most importantly the glass types. Danny priced my windows three different ways in order for me to think about exactly what I wanted and so as I could make an 'informed decision' as he quite rightly put it. I was really impressed that he was able to work the prices out there and then. I ended up plumping for the highest specifications as the thermal properties, sustainability of the timber as well as the aesthetics were all of great importance to me. Six weeks later, as arranged, the joiners turned up to fit the windows. They worked very hard and were really careful when taking my old windows out and putting the new ones in. The end product is superb and my home has now been transformed by my new windows. It has only been a couple of days and it is noticeably warmer and definitely looks the best house in the street. I'm just so proud and happy to have such a beautiful job with no dramas by a well run company. Thank you, I wish you all the best for the future.
Me and my husband moved into our new house a few months back and double glazing was on our 'to do' list. But we kept putting it off, mainly because we dreaded the thought of pushy salesmen coming round, and being made to feel under pressure in our own home. This had happened to us before!
So, we did some research and after reading customer experiences of MWF on sites like this, decided to give them a try. From the start, we weren't disappointed. Danny came round one night, stayed for about half an hour and gave us a quote. We didn't sign up right away because we wanted time to think it through and that was fine. When we did decide to proceed, everything went smoothly. There was the odd hitch here and there, but we were always kept well informed at every stage and any issues we had were dealt with promptly.
We now have some great looking windows and a bit more faith that there are good companies out there if you look hard enough. Which is also why we thought we should do our bit to help other concerned customers by sharing our good experience of MWF on this site!
Our main concern in choosing a company to replace all of our windows and doors was to find a company we felt we could trust to not only provide a high level of products and workmanship, but to come back if there were any problems in the future. We bought a conservatory off one the bigger companies in 2006 after falling for a flashy sales promotion and had nothing but trouble and, in the end, had to get the problems resolved ourselves.
We hired Manchester Windows to do our windows and doors because we felt comfrotable in Danny's presence. We had read the reviews on the net, which were reassuring, before inviting them in. Danny's approach was different. He didn't seem to be desperate to get the job and was happy for us to consider his proposal for a couple of days before giving him the go-ahead.
The work was begun five weeks later and took three days to complete. The installation team did a good job and the house was treated with respect, which is something we were grateful for.
The main reason for writing this review, however, is to highlight their after-care. We had a problem with a door lock after about six months and called the office to get it fixed. The lady in the office was extremely pleasant and professional and promised that it would be dealt with immediately. Alex called me back within five minutes!!!! As all his teams were busy, and as I live locally, he came straight round to have a look. It turns out it was a faulty barrel which needed to be replaced. He went away and came back an hour later and changed it. WOW! Compared to our experience with our last company this was fantastic.
I don't usually write reviews, but this level of service deserves high praise. I am so glad we chose Manchester Windows and will recommend them to everybody I know.
Ours was quite a tricky job and not one that many windows companies wanted to take on as we have a 15th cottage with wattle and daub walls. My wife had read some excellent reviews on another site about the manchester window factory and I found them on this site after a little more homework. I can honestly say that we were more than a little apprehensive when looking for a reputable firm to carry out the work for us, so we did a lot of research first before inviting anyone round. Without question, Danny and his brother Alex stood out from the crowd. Firstly in their not insisting that both my wife and I were in at the same time to quote, although to be honest we wanted to be as we always make the big decisions together. Next was the fact that when Danny called to visit he knew exactly what was required in order to give the best possible finish to our awkward walls and explained exactly how they would propose to do the job. He then showed us a sample product which is of the highest quality and worked out the price for us whilst he was here. The price was a little more than we had expected but we were more than happy that they would complete the project to a very high standard as they have their own employed window fitters. The price was emailed to us and we thought it over for a couple of days before calling to place the order. Within 48 hours, Bob the surveyor called to survey the work and he booked us in for an installation date some 4 weeks later. Mark and Lee turned up at 8am on the agreed day to fit the windows and they got straight to work and didn't leave each evening until they had left the place clean and tidy. The work took a total of 5 days and went swimmingly. We paid on completion and within 2 weeks received our insurance backed warranty and document L, A rated certificate as promised. We would dearly love to have a conservatory, however this is a listed building and not possible. If we do move and my wife wants one at the new place we won't hesitate to call Danny and Alex in again. Thank you for a job well done and for looking after us and our home throughout the process.
