I love the idea of our national health service but it never seems to run anything like as smoothly as it is supposed to and although it is free health care for the nation we still seem to spend half our time moaning about it. Well there is one part of the national health service (NHS) that works tremendously well or has done for me in the times I have used it which is five in total 3 times for myself and twice for my little niece and that is the NHS 24. NHS 24 is a helpline set up for people to use out of surgery hours when they cannot contact a doctor rather than everyone just descending upon A&E departments. The idea is you phone the NHS 24 ...

I don’t know about you, but when I feel unwell, I have a large tendency to fear the worse and think that I am at best going to suffer my symptoms for a long time or at worse end up in hospital or something similar. For me, I think it is a personality trait and while maybe not a great one, it is there and can cause panic and distress at times that I could be doing with knowing that everything will be ok. Up until a couple of years ago, if something like this were to have happened to me, I would most likely sit in a blind panic over what to do.
