A distant roar tells me they are coming

A small army approaching that disturbs my slumber.

With a gigantic chariot breathing fire and smoke they invade house by house.

To take their unwanted spoil.

I reluctantly awake to steady myself for this number.

The noise gets louder and louder,they march down all pathway,to every house.

They are here!! Invasion is complete ,they are here ,with cries,and broken flower pots in their wake.

Shaken by this inglorious war machine <the banner they march under is Sita>,now I am completely AWAKE!!!

Well that was this morning at 7-15 I have difficulty arising in the morning due to my very high blood pressure.
This morning right in front of my gaze I had a Sita employee kick one of my flower pots over .....then knock my door and laugh at me .This is in the Haywards Heath area,
It wasnt a very nice experience.

I have known very courteous Refuse collectors in other areas,but this team does not measure up to the standard of behavior that I recieved in the City of Brighton area,
in fact I sometimes made the a cup of tea.

I know that as usual in looking at services things vary .
I have made a complaint and hope I will get a responce.

It costs nothing to be courteous Im afraid it isnt in the fashion in some walks of life,and this is across the board .

So if there any Refuse collectors on dooyoo,I appreciate your service ,and this is not talking about this service generally.
I would like to share experiences about this if anyone wants to comment.
Update :
Looks like the refuse collectors in the city of Brighton have had a tough time,a lot of their number had unfair amounts of work given them ,and were initially sacked after strike protest,now they have been re-instated .This is because the workforce in Brighton refused to do their work now thats loyalty for
you ,so Sita were forced to re-instate them,see SHHnews 15th June issue.

Update:20th June : Sita has been sacked in Brighton,and the refuse collectors are doing voluntary removal of rubbish ,I dont think it had any thing to do with this opinion :-) I think they could end up with a co-operative there,they have got a lot of get up and go havnt they?I read this in THe Big issue .
Update city of Brighton June 26th 2001.

The City of Brighton,are still having *refuse* problems ,the collectors are refusing to work for Sita ,they have consceded after 5 weeks strike action ,to just stay with Sita 3 more months ,while the Council finds another Contractor ,I dont know whats happened to the co-operative,it seemed a good idea.

In the meantime the poor residents of Brighton are left with stinking piles of rubbish,maybe residents should be provided with compost bins ,and there should be more of an effort to re-cycle.
Is some-one trying to make more of a case for incineration?I hope not Brighton is already having pollution from a crematoriam . See todays *The Argus *.
