Plan UK are a charity based in the UK who help communities in the poorest countries in the world. A large majority of the money they raise are through people sponsoring children. You can sponsor a child in a number of countries that are below the poverty line including many countries in Africa and South America, and countries like India and Armenia. Sponsoring a child through Plan UK is brilliant for many reasons. I started sponsoring a little girl in Malawi about a year ago.
