Don't use 1staccessltd.com! (Plumbers)

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Very expensive & unreliable I called out 1staccessltd.com to look a problem with my boiler - it was leaking and causing the circuit breakers in my flat to trip. In their advert they claim a fast response, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. My experience was somewhat different. I first called them out on Saturday evening around 6pm. I was promised a corgi engineer between 9am and 11am the following morning. By 11.15am nobody had appeared so called them up to find out what was going on. I was told that the engineer would be with me by 12pm. When this deadline also passed, I was told that I had been assigned another engineer who would be with me between 1pm and 2pm. Again, the deadline came and went with no contact from 1staccessltd.com. Fed up of waiting, I called them myself only to be finally told that one of their engineers was off sick and that I hadn't been assigned an engineer (why didn't they tell me this before instead of leaving me sitting at home waiting?!). After multiple further unsuccessful calls I was offered a reduced rate if I shifted my booking until the following day. This I did. The engineer finally turned on Monday evening. The fault turned out to be nothing more than a loose nut which needed tightening. Despite this, I was charged £126.50 for the work!! They charge by the half hour. The engineer in question booked 35 minutes (it was more like 32) which obviously simply an effort to go over the half hour. How can anyone possibly justify more than half an hour to tighten a nut??? And to top it all, not mention of my reduced rate. So, in summary. PLEASE DON'T USE THEM!!! THEY ARE A RIP OFF! Summary: Very expensive & unreliable plumber. Please don't use them! |
