Aspect maintenance-Never ever use this company

I have had no end of problems with this company. At the start of last year I had a problem with a boiler, I called Aspect who sent someone out to check on the problem. Of course they did not carry any spare parts, so another visit is scheduled. And then another and then another. In all I had to pay for three site visits and three new pieces of kit before I end up having to replace the whole boiler (which also ended up being over £100 more expensive than I was quoted). I am told that this is often the case because the real fault is discovered by a process of elimination. Aspect have charged me for each of the misdiagnoses and then taken away the old boiler with the pieces of kit I have just paid for inside it. I suspect there is a very healthy market for "second hand" boiler parts.
While this was going on I also had a gas safety check carried out. In my flat there is a boiler, a gas hob and a fire that needed testing. The engineer, who charges for about 2 hours of time, did not test the fire and within 3 days there was a very serious carbon monoxide leak that could have proved fatal had it not been for an alarm in the flat above. When the engineer was told about the leak he rushed over and started saying that he had never been told about the fireplace. This is untrue and laughable given the size of the flat and the fact that it is impossible to miss the fireplace. Clearly he just rushed around and got out as quickly as possible without checking anything properly.
In addition to all of these problems Aspect also charged my debit card without getting my authorization first. Apparently they kept the details from an earlier job they had done for me. I have never opted in to allow them to hold my card details.
I refused to pay for this work and wrote to the managing director of Aspect about my complaints. He has never had the decency to respond and no one has ever apologized for the dreadful service I ended up paying thousands of pounds for.
I contacted Consumer Direct to ask about my rights and basically I don't have any, Aspect provided a service and a new boiler so I have to pay for it, end of story.
I will never ever use these cowboys again and I would recommend everyone out there to avoid them at all costs.
