Advantages: Excellent price, One of the best qualty windows in the market
Disadvantages: None so far (fingers crossed)
I got my windows and doors fitted last week from Safestyle.I got to admit once I had signed the contract, I went to a couple of sites and none of them had anything great to say about them...I thought to myself "oh god, what have I done".
I wanted to cancel BUT this was the best quote I had received from 5 companies.
I couldn't bear to go through another salesman, so decided to take the risk.
Let's face it ......there just isn't a double galzing company out there which you can say hand on heart that nothing can go wrong. All depends on the survey done and the fitters.
You just have to haggle with most of the salesmen out there.I eventually got a great price for 7 woodgrain windows and a door for £3400.
Survey date arrived...was done on time and accurately (confirmed by the fitters).
Make sure the Surveyor measures every window and door from inside as well as outside - (As a structual engineer I know the importance of this) - No matter how cold or lazy the surveyor is....don't accept measurments if ONLY done from the inside.
Before the installation date, I went to B&Q and got some dust sheets and covered the house (I had just fiited cream carpets and repainted the whole house). There was no area of the house without a dust sheet. Was I glad I had taken the effort to put the sheets as there was
a lot of dust on the actual fitting day.Advice:- Invest in dust sheets before the fitting day.
On the actual day, the 3 fitters were great and a job well done.Once the job was done I also received a courtesy call to check everything went smoothly and I was happy.
I'm not sure if I'm lucky but Safestyle are doing a lot of windows and doors every week and only have a few complaints.
I only went with Safestyle, primarliy because of the price and secondly someone at my wife's workplace recommended them.
Considering that the time between the salesman and the completion of the windows only took 5 weeks...I can't really complain.

- 03/06/05 Thanks for this. We had a salesman around last night as we have just bought a new house & all the windows & both doors need replacing. We were quoted £13k for everything, which is out of our price league & then offered finance, which we didn't want.
We settled on £2.7k for 1 door & 4 windows (1 very large) & were happy with that & to replace the other windows & doors in a couple of years when we'll be able to borrow a bit more money.
The house also needs a new roof, kitchen, bathroom & central heating, so we couldn't afford to replace all the windows as we would have liked to do.
The salesman was very pleasant & we're happy with the price & what we've seen so far.
This review has made me feel happier still.
