Advantages: no more draughts and better sound proof
Disadvantages: finding the right company
we needed new windows as our old one were almost falling out. so we followed advice and set out to get 3 quotes, after eduring 2 long tedious nights of listening to hard sell double glazing salesmen, we were not really looking forward to the 3rd one safestyle. what a difference, the safestyle salesman turned up in an ordinary car and no flashy suit. he was pleasant and polite, we explained we just wanted a price and were not prepared to sign on the night. after he gave us the general info on the windows he gave us a price and said he would leave it at that. ( deep joy ) no pressure.
4 weeks later safestyle fitted our windows 3 men 1 day no mess, we parted with no money until the work was complete and we were 100 per cent satisfied.we had a little problem with a french door that dropped slightly and a window, which they came a sorted out no fuss.
i might also add, safestyle insisted that we had the same amount of openers as we originally had ( others tried to persuade us to cut down to save money ) safestyle also insisted on fire escapes in all the upstairs rooms ( this wasn't mentioned by the the 2 other companies )
safestyle were not the cheapest quote we had but they were the best of the 3 .. no hard sell..
our new windows and doors are lovely
Summary: very happy

- 20/10/06 I am glad to hear there is at least one happy customer of SafeStyle. When a SafeStyle rep suspects the customer has had other quotes the way to get the deal is by offering a realistic price in the first place and hoping that the buying impulse takes over. It usually does in eight out of ten cases. The third company to quote always has an advantage as They are in your house when most people are ready to make a decision. A rep can't really put much pressure on if you already have some market knowledge. A rep under these circumstances has to do a good job of showing the samples and explainig the supposed benefits of his company. Even if you didn't tell the rep you had already had other quotes. He is trained to pick up buying signals that you may not have been aware of giving out. If you look into FENSA regulations they say it is good practice to use fire escapes in upstairs habitable rooms. Its not the law so by insistiong on fire escape hinges you payed extra for them in the price along with the price of the extra openers. If you have any more windows or doors to be done it won't be long until the canvass calls from Safestyle start to get annoying. I hope if you use them again you are lucky enough to get the same rep as last time otherwise read my review and know how it really works. |

- 19/08/06 A good personal experience review, but it might have been helpful to know more about the types of windows they offer at what kind of price and what guarantee they offer against that of the competition. |
