Disadvantages: they rip off everyone, especially old people as their sales pitch can be confusing

Ok, don't go with SafeStyle if you don't support ripping off poor old pensioners.

Why would I say that? well, i invited one of their nice sales people round for a quote and all i wanted was a quick quote, which I made quite clear. He even pulled out the book to tell us 'a bit about the company' which I asked him to put away immediately. I don't require brainwashing, I require a quote. He then went on to measure up and then we picked some doors and windows from the catalogue. All of the doors were priced at over £2000 EACH. yes Each!. I enquired why this was and he said not to worry we'll come to that later.

So he then totted up the figures and it came to just over £4000 for 2 doors and a window. £4000!!!! I had previously been quoted for the same from another company at £1500.

As the sales man knew what our other qoute was, he then dropped the price to £2200. Now, if I had not said anything to the £4000 quote, that would have been the price we would have been paying. Just think, someones poor old grandma will have been ripped off by these con merchents.

Finally, a quote. Great, you can go home now, I said.

But it didn't end there. I had come to an agreement with the salesman. I was going to think about it and then call him back the following day about lunchtime. We did have a better quote after all. But then he called his manager and then said his manager would like to speak to me. He basically offered me a good discout if I took the deal immediately. Very pressured sales. They were trying to confuse me but I saw it all coming, so I went along with it all just to waste their time, I mean, it was knocking on 11pm by this point and I was staying up anyway.

So i handed the phone back to the salesman and then he told his manager that he had been asked to leave, which he hadn't, he was welcome to stay all night as far as I was concerned. And then he left, at long last.

So I had a think and the only thing that sprung to mind was that some poor old pensioners would make prime targets for these leaches, so i called him back at 8am the following day and told him exactly that.

There are plenty of local companies around that could really do with your business at the moment. Do them (and yourselves) a favour and go with them. They are much nicer. And if you feel in the least bit pressured with sales pitch, then ask them to leave and get another company in.

Think of the vulnerable old people.

Summary: Shop around and go with local companies. They could do with your business more than safestyle could.
