I have just had windows fitted by safestyle and believe me they are bad. Not all the windows were fitted as their surveyor had not done his job correctly. I was asked to sign the satisfaction form, as the fitter said "just to say i have been and fitted the windows" i signed and wrote unchecked next to my name. When my husband returned from work to inspect the work he was very unhappy. I called the finance company the next day to make sure payment was not made, they told me as i had signed this form they had already paid Safestyle, Remember the job is not even complete i have a 12ft window in my garden waiting for instalation. Now i was starting to get angry, after numerous calls to head office we were being fobbed off with someone will call you back. I rang and threatened them with trading standard, suprise, suprise, we got an immediate call back! Here is a list of what is visibley wrong: approx 6 wood screws 75mm long straight into brickwork ( no raw plugs) holding each window in. Bricks surrounding the windows cut into (approx 2 inches into brick) Some bricks have the faces broken off and have been bodged with cement. Handles loose, and fitted wrong, screw covers missing. Rubber seals broken. interlocking parts misaligned. Window sills scuffed and end pieces loose. I am still waiting for them to arrange for a manager to come and inspect the damage that has been done to my home.
I can only hope that FENSA can come to my rescue.

Manager came and inspected the job on 3 Feb and was very upset by the standard of work, he has arranged for the windows to be fitted correctly and all problems corrected, he was very apologetic and said that the crew who had done the job had been sacked. I will report back when the work has been done.

Fitter came yesterday to fit my 12ft window, he couldnt lift it on his own so it is still in my back garden, the
replacement sash was the wrong colour so that could not be replaced. The wood screws were replaced with proper fixings. The brick work was not replaced, oh dear i think i have now got a fight on my hands. I guess tomorrow will be a busy day on the phone, i have told the manager, that i am not going away, and i will be his worst nightmare.

Fitters who were coming on Sat 15th March did not turn up. I have contacted the finance company who are going to deal with it. I have also contacted the county court for forms to be sent to put in a claim. I sent a letter on 12th March to Mr Ross, Managing Director, informing him of my intentions concerning breach of contract. I paid for before 12.00 delivery, and as today have not heard a word back from him. An appointment for the fitters to come on 22nd March has been made.
Please people, think before using this company. I have not once been called by them, my e-mails have gone unanswered. FENSA are of no use at all, all they say are they are a governing body who register companys. Trading standards have been a big help.
