After receiving a cold call from a safestyle rep who promised us 2 for the price of 1 +free fitting we decided to ask them round for a quote, on a front door & a side entrance door. I asked the price of there doors and was told between £650 -£900 depending on the door. We booked the appointment for 6.00 in the evening noone turned up 7.00 came & went so did 8.00 finally at 9.10 I received a Phone call I'm just round the corner be with you in 5 mins, NO SORRY FOR LETTING YOU DOWNOr any other apology for being 3 HOURS LATE. I dont think was MY reply, The rep promised us a really good price if he could come round tomorrow So after he reminded me it was 2 for the PRICE of 1 I agreed, if you still want to come round be here tomorrow at 9.15 dont be late was my reply.
Sure enough 9.00 there was knock on the door, the Rep Came in showed us his demonstation WINDOW even though we wanted DOORS so we could see how well it was made he said.Now for the good bit he got out his door brochure we picked out a couple of designs that I already Knew the price of, as I had Previously had other Window companies round for quotes, THESE quotes varied between £600- £750 for the same doors.Now for the moment of truth DOOR 1 £2100 Door 2 £1950 =£4050 for 2 DOORS I dont think so I can get your £2100 door for £750 I pointed out to him & even offered to show him the Brochure. What about 2 for the price of 1, I pointed out & the free fitting. He Then decided he could drop the Price, Surprise surprise down to £2100 Which I pointed out was still 3x more expensive than the other companies, He then knocked the price down again £1500 this time. I again pointed out to him that they were only £750 doors So according to what I had been told, I should get 2 doors for £750 I told him anyone can dream up a figure & say you get 2 for the price of 1 I then pointed out that even the original cold calling rep had told us thje price of the doors was between £650-£900 no mention of £2100, he then decided
as he was not going to get a sale he may as well leave. BE WARNED This company Is out to take you for a ride the price of their Windows & doors are 3x the price of other companies Thats how they can offer 2 for the price of 1

A good op there with some excellent warnings. You're not the first and certainly won't be the last person to complain about Safestyle on this site.
I did find your op a little difficult to read as there was no blank lines inbetween paragraphes. Also, I found the ODD word BEING capitalised a little offputting too! Didn't make much sense to me.
Hope you have fun here - write your next review about something you like/use a lot. It's much easier to write a brilliant review about good service than bad.

- 05/05/03 I bought windows and doors from this company a few years ago - there "2 for 1" offer has been going continuously for as long as I can remember. They didn't turn up on the day they were meant to to install. I would not recommend them, their customer service was apalling. When we had a problem after installation the call centre staff were extremely rude and unhelpful - no, obnoxious is a better word. The original price quoted later went up by £600. In the end however, I am glad to say I was happy with the windows and doors but I would never, ever recommend this company to anyone - I only go on recommendations now. |
