The previous owners of my house had converted two small windows into one by knocking out a brick support column but they didnt replace the lentils and so i was left with a large window with two half lentils above it crushing the window.

safestyle cold called me in february, i dont have much experience with this type of situation so i thought going with a national firm would be better and agreed to a rep visit. The rep was ok but kept quoting stupid prices and then pretending to half them, anyhow i needed this done as the current window was actually bowed due to the lentil problem so i signed for two windows to replace the one window with a support column to be rebuilt. i also ordered a new front door.

The surveyor was excellent, arrived on time and gave really sensible advice although i dont think he worked directly for safestyle.

Two months later they called the day before the install date and claimed a machine had broken at the factory so they would have to put the install back one month. This seemed like a really poor excuse but i was ok with that as i hadn't really payed them for anything.

The next installation date i was out of the country, i called them a few days before and told them i couldnt be there but they turned up anyway and shoved a scribbled a note through the door written on the back of someone elses contract showing their name, address, finance details. very unprofessional.

The next install date they turned up, they had no idea of what my contract was for as they had lost it and the fitters only brought two windows they had to send someone back for the door.

Most of the work was ok except one window had a long line of deep cuts in the plasic of the frame - i didnt notice this until they had left, the fitters did notice it as i heard them talking about something falling on a window but they chose not to tell me. something had obviously fallen against it in the facory.

i calle
d customer services to report the problem about one hour after the install and they said someone would call back, they didn't. I dont have much hope of getting them to sort this defect out without a major fight.
