Advantages: kids can get equipment, even if you need loads of vouchers.

Disadvantages: you need too many vouchers for anything good

The idea of Sainsbury's active kids vouchers is that kids get out and about and become more active. For every £10 you send at Sainsbury's you will be given 1 active kids voucher. Once these vouchers have been donated to your local school they can then be used to get sports equipment, from a hula hoop to trampolines.

There's no doubt that these vouchers are a great idea, you can really help your local school, just by doing your weekly shop. But, you have to do alot of shopping for the school to get some very basic equipment. If the school is a large inner city school then this isn't a problem, but my local school is tiny, and even with all the parents donating they still only have enough for very very basic equipment. For example you need 150 for a tennis racquet, so £1500 of shopping, for 1 racquet. And 143 for a set of plastic pom poms!!

On the up side you can win a £50 shopping voucher (I've won 2!!!) and I guess I would have shopped there anyway so it's better than a kick in the teeth.

If you have them, then it's worth giving them to a school, but id don't really think its worth making a special trip to Sainsbury's for
