Advantages: Lovely sweet smell, girlie packaging.

Disadvantages: None!

I love L'Occitane body products and I'm lucky to have a hubby who travels to France often on business, so when he goes I put in an order for more L'Occitane. The company uses real essential oils in their products and no nasties so I know they won't upset my sensitive skin. My favourite was always the Lavender collection until hubby came home from Paris in April with a beautiful gift box containing a collection of Cherry Blossom goodies. The box contained shower gel, shimmer body lotion, hand cream and this cute bottle of Eau de Toilette. It comes in a pretty sugar-pink box decorated with cherry blossoms, so stylish it has to be French. The bottle inside is heavy glass, tinted pink and an unusual shape, like a curvy rectangle which has been slightly flattened so the sides are off kilter. It has a little silver metal lid and a spray top. The glass is embossed with more cherry blossom flowers and looks good on my dressing table. The 100ml bottle retails for around £40, good value when compared to some of the designer brands.

The scent itself is sweet, floral, but not headache inducing. I read somewhere that Coco Chanel once said the proper way to apply perfume is to mist it into the air then walk through the cloud to avoid getting an overpowering concentration of perfume in one area. Whether she actually said this or not it makes perfect sense to me. An added bonus of doing it this way is a lovely smell in your bedroom, but however you want to apply it is fine, it still smells gorgeous. With top notes of cherry and freesia, it is light enough to wear for everyday use but still youthful and sexy for a night out. I was worried that the scent would not last as long as some of my more expensive perfumes but I can often still smell it when I go to bed in the evening. Heavenly.

Summary: A scent for all occasions.
